I do not really hate it but I know it for what it is, an economic cage and a political sinkhole of fearful single issue voters.I have a new home town that I am proud of. So this does not answer your hate for small town America.Been there done that, I served with distinction in the Army and you can kiss my ass for your stupid assumption. I have a new home town that I am terribly proud of. It's so much better than chicken farms, poverty and despair.Doubtful. I escaped too...at least I feel you on that one. But, to be angry with where you were born, or your economic circumstances, is not positive. I do not believe that large metro area have a monopoly on America. Too bad you are not proud of your background. Had you stood and defended her, smiled when you got that precious letter from home during Mail call, perhaps your attitude would be different.I work harder on a daily basis than you ever would but I get a decent wage for it. The same physically demanding job in my home town pays significantly less and there is a lot less work. Last time I went home with money in the bank and debt free I felt like an escapee from a prison my relatives had built for themselves.Fuck you. I have lived in L.A. , Chicago, New Orleans. Less challenging environment. Kind of toughness. You left because your a pussy that can't hack hard work.I was born and raised in farm country. I have seen my relatives move to the city, fail and go back home to their horrible lack of opportunity in their still depressed hometown. Living in a city requires a kind of toughness and intelligence that they lack. It's not necessarily a bad thing but they have traded economic opportunity for the security of a less challenging environment.
