Democrats Will Win the House and Senate Next Year

The Virginia elections this week replicated a pattern we saw in 2005, the year before Republicans got massacred in the midterms and lost control of both houses of Congress. Suburban and rural legislative seats, some of which were never even competitive in recent years, flipped from R to D and a very lackluster Democratic candidate bested a well known Republican opponent by eight points. This is hardly surprising as Republicans have failed to accomplish little of anything they promised the voters last year, combined with the constant revolving door of shady, scandalized characters in and out of the White House. Then, of course, there is President Trump, himself, the cancer of it all, with historically low approval ratings and a mouth that doesn't quit. Many of us warned the GOP that he would be destructive to the party, but the rank and file didn't listen. Now you are seeing a foreshadowing of what we predicted would happen if you elected him.

Virginia being lost is the pattern of immigrants taking over America. You might not recall, but not even Trump could win there, so there is nothing surprising about the result.

And as such, your prediction is completely worthless, about as worthless as the polls that predicted that Trump can't win.

I am sorry you actually believe what you posted. I think the establishment, Republicans stink............but what will be coming out about the Democrats through the winter will sink any chance they have, and Republican strategists already know this.

You know, Donna Barzille is probably a very, very nice woman, but she is no rocket scientist. Do you think for an instant that she knew some of this stuff, and nobody else knew? Of course they did, and Donna didn't delve into it all, TRUST me on that, for obvious reasons.

Like him or hate him, Trump is in a very, very, VERY unique position! When the left does something really shady, the right can't do much because they are shady too! It is kind of like the old gentlemens agreement------------> we can hate each other, but we never rat each other out to our wives, because we all have mistresses!

Well, for all the shady, Trump wasn't there!!!!! He was in the private sector, not in Washington. He can sink Democrats, Republicans, or anybody he wants. Let me tell ya, watch TV a little after Christmas, and watch the Democratic party run for the hills. Sure, Hillary is going to look really bad, but watch how many Democrats actually holding seats, start sinking like the Titanic.........and some of them in LEADERSHIP!

And let me tell ya........you know how the accusations are probably true? (which they are) Because whenever it is a lie, it is always an October surprise! Far enough from the election to affect it, close enough to not have enough time to disprove it..........you know, kinda like Harry Reid's dissertation on Romney's taxes, which good ole Harry admitted he lied, AFTER the election.

When it is true, the sorrid facts are not all released, because they want to GUIDE the press to the rest of the facts-) They want a constant drip, drip, drip. The only time a lie is used like this, is when it is a last ditch attempt to stop am agenda, kinda like the Obama/Kenya routine, or the Trump/Russia collusion, delusion!

Watch, get some popcorn, and enjoy. This is gonna be better than a Stephen Spielberg movie, and the Democrats are gonna cry so hard, blue states may have to be proclaimed a flood plain-)

Whats about to come out is going to rock this republic to the core.

What!!?? Another Hillary/DNC story.

Yes We Can and Yes We Will

republicans are making this waay too easy

2018 is not going to be an easy year for Democrats in the Senate, and it's unlikely that they'll gain enough seats to take control.

They only need three

There are only 8 Republican seats up in 2018, and 23 (25) Democratic seats.

The DSCC is probably going to spend most of their money on defense.

Screw Swamp Republicans.

Democrats lost almost every significant election in the last six years before the "Va. elections" of 2017. Despite the left wing fantasy it seems that the pattern indicates that democrats will continue to lose.

Well, you do have a track record......

You predicted: Trump would never be the nominee. Trump would never beat hiLIARy.
How'd those work out?

Every Democrat "Win" is a MAJOR defeat for the nation. P-E-R-I-O-D

(Not everyone has the intellect to realize that)
Yes restoring the EPA back to scientists and those committed to PROTECTING the environment as opposed to those to want to ruin the environment is a " major defeat " in your eyes.

Hilarious you still don't know how toxic Trump is in this country.
His 34% approval rating didn't give it away to you bottomfeeders?

A better bet is to watch the money. Hillary spent eight to one and lost. If the democrats walked into 2020 with anything less than 100 million to start they are in trouble!

Well, Clinton is out. Sanders is out. And the reality is that the current generation of youths will to finish something only goes so far as the next reality show when there is nobody there to lead their pet peeve cause. The Republicans will show up even more than they did in 2016, if for no ther reason than to poke a stick at the Democrat voters.

VA was expected. It's a Democrat state. There will be no wave.

Virginia is not a Democratic state. It is a swing state and was perfectly winnable for the Republicans.
Virginia was a litmus test of what direction the country will move forward.
EvenBannon said it.
Republicans and Trump are so fucked and as the indictments continue to roll in it will look like a roman orgy in this country.

The House is going to be close next year. I have no idea how that will turn out. The Senate is pretty much a lock to stay in GOP hands. As for Virginia, the take away is simple. Virginia is now a blue state. If the northern suburbs turn out, the Dems will win 99/100 times. The trend there has been happening for years. From Red, to Purple, now to Blue. It is not a battle ground state any longer. That is the take away. Just like California, you might see a random GOP governor now and a again, but the state is true blue now.

Trump is not fucked either. For goodness sakes, Obama suffered house losses into the 60+ seat range and survived no problem.

Bullshit! Those races only showed Dems still have power on a local level. And with only 12 million in the coffers and 25 national seats up they simply do not have the cash.

The second problem is their honesty level is in question. Seriously questioned after Donna Brazil book. The money mishandling leaves donors more apt to donate local and directly NOT to the DNC.

Third you have the power issue. The Clinton's no longer have any real say in the party. Who does? Could be Sanders or it could be Warren but not the Clinton's.

Hillary is this generations Nixon and that giant shit burger is frying now!

Democrat candidates are having no trouble raising money. Donors will give directly to candidates. The DNC problems do not mean anything at this point.

Secondly there are questions about the honesty of Donald Trump. He is seen as being as dishonest as Hillary Clinton.

The fact is that voters are more concerned about other issues as in Virginia. Among Virginia voters you saw a huge rejection of Trumpcare. Republicans have serious issues they will have to defend. Also taxes may not be the saving grace Republicans are hoping for. Gillespie supported tax cuts but only 15% of Virginians voted on that issue.

Thread topic analysis ftl..........

Virginia is a solid blue state in 2017.....that Guillespie was so close was shocking particularly since conservatives stayed home. If the DUMS stay on the identity politics theme in 2018, they lose...........again!! People don't go for that shit.....progressives still think its a mainstream sentiment. Go.......go!!:eusa_dance::eusa_dance::bye1:

That is not true.

It is not a solid blue state. Romney lost by 4 and Trump lost by 5. The fact is that the state is a moderate state. It voted for Clinton but gave Republicans a super majority 66-34 in the House of delegates. Name a solidly blue state that has that. That super-majority is gone.

Republicans have done nothing for years and the drones keep electing them. Dems need a fresh message.

If we look back on the 2014 Mid-Term elections, we had more Independent, Third-Party, Green candidate folks show up than any time in modern history. And nobody reported on it. I was amazing. That's why Trump got elected. It was a referendum vote against the establishment. And those people have not gone away. They're still around. And they're still eager to express themselves.

To that extent I would agree with the op. If that's what he means by a wave.

Is that what your'e talking about, Dont Taz Me Bro?

The reason that they voted for Trump was because he was less-awful than Clinton. Voters in Virginia are reacting to Trump. They are reacting to the Republicans' god-awful healthcare plans.

The House is definitely winnable for Democrats. They have had success in getting the candidates they want to run. If I were advising them this would be what they would run on. Working together to fix healthcare rather than kicking people off of their insurance.

I only see 4 states in play in the Senate. Nevada, Arizona, Indiana and Missouri. Tennessee could be a 5th if Democrats can get former Gov Phil Bredeson to run. I would favor Democrats in Arizona and Nevada. Republicans in Missouri and Indiana as a toss-up. Democrats in Montana, North Dakota, and West Virginia will hold their seats.

Dont Taz Meh Bra predicted Crooked Hillary would win the Presidential election! So it is really weird he is making more predictions. :p
