I read the article, it's pathetically stupid and only has secondhand innuendo, I can see why you ran with it.

All your post needed was a "'throbbing member" to make me throw-up!

I do generally like a good story, keep trying.

Well, your outrage was fun....
Throbbing member of congress?

Stat miester's melodramatic post actually.

Hello Ravi-olio

hey lib.. almost as bad as teddy killing/drowning a young girl and covering it up, eh?

Hey that's genius. You should contact Hastert's lawyers and tell them you've found a can't lose defense for their client.
Whatever he did, whoever he raped, and it sounds like more than one boy, he sure wanted to keep it quite. Just wait until Sil finds out, he'll be in big trouble then. No stamp for him eh...

Just heard on TV that it involves a relationship with a man. There will be no prosecution for that because of the statute of limitations. Hastert still faces lying to the FBI.

He allegedly molested a boy he coached on the wrestling team. I know you're happier than a pig in shit, but lets remember he's innocent until otherwise proven not so.
His innocence claim went the way of his briefcases full of cash.

hey, you think this took the heat the Hillary?

How convenient A FORMER politician is indicted now eh

and lookie, from Obama's state. all good crooks come out of there and you went and put one in as President

way to go
Seems they have actual evidence against Hastert vs the conspiracy theories you trumped up on Hillary

Former US House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL), in 2007

Now, this:

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert accused of hiding sex abuse of former student - LA Times

On Friday, federal law enforcement officials said Hastert had paid $1.7 million over the last four years to conceal sexual abuse against a former male student he knew during his days as a teacher in Yorkville, Ill., where Hastert worked until 1981.

A top federal law enforcement official, who would not be identified speaking about the ongoing federal case, said investigators also spoke with a second man who raised similar allegations that corroborated what the former student said. The second person was not being paid by Hastert, the official said.

The disclosures followed Thursday's federal indictment against Hastert on charges of lying to the FBI about the reasons for large cash withdrawals he is accused of making to buy the man's silence.

“It goes back a long way, back to then,” a second official said. “It has nothing to do with public corruption or a corruption scandal. Or to his time in office.”

Thursday's indictment described misconduct against a person identified only as “Individual A,” noting that Hastert had known the person “most of Individual A's life.”

When asked about the nature of the alleged misconduct, the second official said, “It was sex.”

What is not stated is whether the abuse was consensual or not. The inference is that it was not, but wait and see. Since Hastert was the wrestling coach of that HS wrestling team, I suppose he had a number of young, healthy, muscular boys to pick from in order to abuse at least one of them. The article states that a SECOND person has also come forward with similar allegations. This also explains why Hastert dragged his feet on the Michael Foley (R-FL) sexual scandal with male House Pages in 2006.

So, it's obvious that he paid hush-money to that former student to keep him from going public.

After all of the disgusting GOP scandals and indictments, I never ever again want to hear how Republicans take the high moral road, that they are the party of "Family Values". Or is fucking high school boys somehow a family value these days? :puke:

This man was SPEAKER OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, fer Chrissakes.

Discuss: what will happen to Dennis Hastert next? Oh, and deflection/relativism will get you nowhere. If you can find a Democrat who diddled a High School student, feel free to start your own thread. :D
Take a look at your Hillary cartoon...you obviously got diddle early on...

Excuse me, care to explain that one? What do you mean by "diddle" in reference to me person?

Uhm, it's the LA times, also based on information that the FBI is already giving out.

Care to try again?

Good!

He was Speaker of the House during the G.W. Bush Administration and I despise that gluttonous, arrogant bastard. I hope he is convicted, sent to prison, and dies there.

The bastard pushed through W's spending orgy and punished fiscal conservatives who tried to not go along with it. You get my vote
You were only fiscally conservative when Nancy harry and barrack took over. Fucking tea baggers.

The crap you pull out of your ass stinks, fella. You should keep it in there. Also, I'm not a tea partier, I'm a libertarian. We are way, way worse. They only want to slow down the rate you're gaining weight. We're a crash diet.

Boo...
The problem with libertards and tea baggers is you are stupid people. For example for 15 years now the GOP has been talking about less spending and lower taxes. But all they did was cut spending on things that help the poor and lower rich people taxes. Which didn't lower the debt one bit. In act what it did was shift the tax burden and debt more onto you.

Not only that now infrastructures falling apart and now they are saying they need to raise your taxes to pay for it. So you poor libertarians really are stupid people.

W and Rove were throwing fiscal conservatives off the boat long before the tea party.

Revenge of the Reality-Based Community The American Conservative

You might even check out a guy named David Frum, who got fired for speaking truth
Being a tea bagger or libertard is just a way for republicans to stand out. I would like their policies if they were sincere and if I though their policies would improve america but all they want to do is eliminate safety nets and social programs.

If you want to tea bag start with the rich first. Tea bag them first. But they won't.

Yes, intelligent people, such as yourself, put your manhood into a blind trust and turn it over to government. We stupid people want to take care of ourselves. Great point.

First, you are retarded, I'm not a Republican and haven't been for 25 years. Second, you are sadly misinformed, Pinkie. We want to cut wwwwwaaaaaayyyy more than just safety nets and social programs

Ahhh, the irony of this...

Dennis Hastert in 2001: sworn-in as Speaker of the HOR, to defend the US Constitution. Uhuh.

Patriot Act That Dennis Hastert Passed Led To His Indictment

On Oct. 24, 2001, then-House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) shepherded the Patriot Act through the House of Representatives. It passed 357 to 66, advancing to the Senate and then-President George W. Bush’s desk for signing.

Hastert took credit for House passage in a 2011 interview, claiming it “wasn’t popular, and there was a lot of fight in the Congress” over it.

Little did Hastert know at the time that the law he helped pass would give federal law enforcement the tools to indict him on charges of violating banking-related reporting requirements more than a decade later.

The Department of Justice on Thursday announced Hastert's indictment for agreeing to pay $3.5 million in hush money to keep someone quiet about his “prior misconduct.” The indictment accuses Hastert of structuring bank withdrawals to avoid bank reporting requirements, and lying to the FBI about the nature of the withdrawals. It does not reveal the “misconduct” that Hastert was trying to conceal. The recipient of the money was a resident of Yorkville, Illinois, where Hastert taught high school and coached wrestling from 1965 to 1981.

The indictment suggests that law enforcement officials relied on the Patriot Act’s expansion of bank reporting requirements to snare Hastert.

Ahhh, irony.

And so, we see yet another Republican embroiled in something illegal.

Yesiree, the GOP: party of high ethics, morals and family values.

Discuss: what do you think will happen to Hastert?
Sorry Stat, but it's not true.

The "Bank Secrecy Act of 1970" (BSA) is the law that ensnared him. Specifically a provision that was enacted in 1992 (the Annunzio-Wylie Anti-Money Laundering Act) that requires banks to report "suspicious" acts to FinCen. The bank reported Hastert to the FBI after he made a great number of withdrawals slightly below the $10K reporting limit. Then he lied to the FBI about what he was doing with the money. End of story.

The "patriot Act" angle may get tongues wagging and sell lots of newspapers along the way, but it baseless hyperbole.

Uh, you didn't read the entire article, now did you.

The PA REVISED the BSA of 1970. Did you know that?

Yes, but the revisions didn't lead to this bust. Suspicious activities did. Banks have been required to report suspicious withdrawals since 1992.....

Criminal corruption IS the GOP philosophy,.

which explains why more Democrats went to jail in the last 50 years!!

See why we are positive that liberalism is based in pure ignorance? What other conclusion is possible??
Dems go to jail, and Nixon, Raygun, Shrub daddy, Ollie North, Cheney, Shrub Jr. walk off Scott free for their crimes. Conclusion....you really don't have a clue, do you.

I'm Happy Joy, but I think you still missed the point of the OP.
That is likely because there really was no point of the OP other than to revel in their partisan blinders. Hell the article even mentioned that a democrat was already caught by the new law though it does not mention if they also voted for the PA.

It makes one point - that it is ironic - and asks one question which I answered in the above post. Other than that there is not much of a 'point' to the OP of this thread.

No. This thread is about this specific case. Do try to stay focused.
I did. I also answered the one question you posed.

Still had plenty of time to point out your blatant hypocrisy and inability to actually make a valid point. I notice that you are still only able to duck and deflect from the obvious.

I also notice that you failed to even address the post that dealt with your one question or bothered to bring a relevant political point to bear.
