This is a reminder to the Black Lives Matter crowd about what cops face every day in America

He stops are car for a traffic violation and gets shot by the passengers in the car

For the record one shooter was white and the other was black

The police officer was hispanic

At about 12:02 a.m., Officer Urbano Rodriguez Jr. pulled over a vehicle, and during the traffic stop, a passenger shot Rodriguez in the head and upper leg, breaking his femur, police said. The patrol officer underwent hours of surgery at Medical City Denton until about 8 a.m., when he was given a “favorable” prognosis moving forward, Denton Police Chief Frank Dixon said Tuesday afternoon. Rodriguez was still listed in critical condition as of late Tuesday night.

Law enforcement are rarely shot in countries with strong gun control. They have always been shot here, since long before black lives matters. Care about cops? Demand gun control.

And those who did the shooting will be charged and spend the rest of their lives in prison.......as should be the case in any unjustified shooting.

Cops are heroes for a reason. Anybody that won't accept the danger of duty shouldn't be a cop. We don't need to castrate our right to own firearms.

And I actually don't care if some European country is safer per 1,000 our however you measure it. The second amendment is part of our way of life. Like it or not that shit is part of our culture. Guns, fighting, being badass, are all part of our culture. It's where we came from; it's who we are. If you're not down for it then you can go move to Europe and be protected by the U.S.

Your lack of support for law enforcement is noted.

Law enforcement are rarely shot in countries with strong gun control.

most countries do not have a strong Bill Of Rights like America has,

including the right to keep and bear arms

And if you read the 2nd you would realize that is dependent on being a member of a well regulated militia.

Your support for policy that leads to law enforcement deaths is noted.

You don't get to decide I don't support law enforcement just because I don't meet your gun grabbing criteria.
You support policy that gets them often shot and killed. That is some support,
In Great Britain, only 25 cops were shot and killed between 2000 and 2014. Their gun control laws protect cops. We should do what they are doing.

And in what reality do you actually believe that criminals will decide to set aside their guns if gun controls are enacted?
We have tried proabition. Did criminals stop producing or supplying liquor?
We criminalized murder. Is muder no longer committed?
We criminalized drugs. Are there less users and no drugs being sold?
There are stories every day about deaths in gun free areas or in cities with oppressive gun control. We see stories almost weekly of judges allowing someone convicted of a violent crime to walk free.

You claim it does not happen in other countries that have strict gun control yet guns are still used. Those countries are more homogeneous then the U.S. they have smaller populations. London had to ban knives because their homicide rate out paced New York City. Sweden is seeing an upswing in the underground bringing in FULLY automatic weapons and even handgrendes. None of those countries have a second amendment nor a culture of gun ownership similar to the U.S.

And exactly what were you attempting to pove? That a country with less people has less shootings? Well DUH.
Or was it that they have less guns and have had for generations? Well DUH.
Maybe it was nothing at all and just simply easy for you to post that instead of actually thinking?

Thats your opinion

But the operative text is “the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”

Sure, we have more people, but not 98.7 times as many as them. We kill a lot. They kill a few. We should do what they are doing.

Actually look at the simple fact that we have how many people from how many cultures? Unlike them that have how few?
Look at the last time a large number of private citizens owned a firearm. NEVER.

You could claim that we should follow everything that Luxembourg does, that does not mean it would work in this country.

You posted an article that you might not have noticed there are several problems with.
It is an article from a bias site that is a reprint of an even more bias site.
The author claims that the numbers are his own guess For 115 years. The author also claims that there are no actual numbers for the number of dead cops.

Too many so called sports fiqures, celebrities and others have been playing the cops kill unarmed victims card for years. Creating a frenzy.

I'm glad you recognize that more people being armed means more people being killed by guns. That is, and always has been my main point in discussions about guns in the US.
You need to read that again. The author does not say there are no firm numbers for the number of dead cops. While it does say there is no firm number for how many people cops have killed, the only part I sited was how many cops have been killed. That number is known, and not referenced in that or any other footnote.

Lol. So now you are saying that the piece you posted was not your main concern. So you posted it for just looks?
Look again it states very clearly that the number that was posted for the U.K. is his guess.
You still have not made any claims that what I originally posted to the op were wrong. So you posted a fluff piece in the hopes you could not talk about the real problems. Good for you.

I'll only address this one more time with you. I intended to make the point that inordinately more cops are killed here than there. I succeeded. The article states that the numbers for the last 115 years were an estimate. I assume those numbers aren't readily available. Deaths since 2000 are readily available. If you contend those are wrong, or just an estimate, I suggest you present your evidence.
