What we get are kids that are well versed in left wing race and class warfare but can't spell "math". Keep in mind well over 90% of american businesses have less than 100 employees, were not talking Goldman or Google, these are not the people you see as the enemy. The educational system in this country is more interested in making sure one group does not outpace the other than creating excellence.

My post was in reference to your 'reading' comment. When we lost stay at home Mom's when the wage/cost imbalance started in the 70's, parenting became harder when both parents were working. That was the start of the dumbing down in America. Now we have Republicans pushing for public funds directed to private-for-profit schools leaving less and less for public education.

While it's true that corporate America (all business corporations and most/if not all super-rich and wealthy) wants intelligent young people, they don't want to pay their share. Today, corporate tax revenue to the IRS is a historically low 12%. Fixing that would be a great benefit to the middle class.

The vast majority of american business is middle class. The IRS revenues are just a part of the story and I do mean small.. I've posted this a number of times before on this forum but according to the federal govt(small business,manufacturing) I pay 22k a year per employee to meet fed regulations. The vast majority of which accomplish nothing. I pay an employee 30k a year after benefits and taxes I pay 40k. Add 22k to that. What does that employee take home, 22k?

"Corporate America" is not the problem, the problem is huge banks in conjunction with government are hammering all of us.

Can't let you get away with that, uncle jonny, blaming libs for edu in America. It began when June Cleaver hung up her apron, took off the high heels and pearls, donned jeans (neatly pressed) and went to work like Rosie the riveter, leaving schools to parent Wally and the Beav. All with the blessing and encouragement of Ronnie. Over the years, Dems haven't helped either. What happened is the schools took on more social teaching with less authority to discipline that leaves the country with barely literate unruly kids.
