DHS wants YOUR license plates

Hmmmm. Bush creates a massive new Cabinet department with over-reaching police powers. It promptly begins spying on all Americans' communications. No cries of secession are heard!

Then the GOP Congress imposes a national identity papers requirement on the states. No cries of secession are heard!

Then, we find a movement demanding citizens produce those papers at the voting booth, even though doing so is completely ineffective against what they are claiming this requirement will accomplish. But it does acclimate citizens to obeying authority and producing identity papers when exercising their freedoms.

And now a message from the Department of Fatherland Security:

Secure driver's licenses and identification documents are a vital component of a holistic national security strategy. Law enforcement must be able to rely on government-issued identification documents and know that the bearer of such a document is who he or she claims to be.

And now that same Cabinet department wants to further extend their ability to track our every movement.

Look, it is your guy that claimed he was gonna curtail the practices of Bush, but he has done nothing but increase them 10 fold. When will you on the left ever admit that Obama is now the one responsible for this as he has had 5 years in which to do just that, not Bush, not anyone but Obama. Own up to the facts here. Obama is to blame for the continued and increased activities of the NSA. You were lied to.

Which is why I was against the creation of this dept from the beginning. It's no surprise that future presidents will continue to abuse it.

when the hell is so-called 'Homeland Security' ever going to put up surveillance on our borders....?

they seem more interested in tracking American citizens........
