Did Obama Tell You Folks It Snowed While He Was In Alaska? No!

So, -58 in Alaska. Seneca, Oregon has seen -54. Officially. Unofficially, but with the same thermometer, -60 in the same place in '52. And I have worked in 100+ near this same little town.

However cold it might get occasionally, the University of Alaska, and ever other institution or agency that is measuring the temperatures in Alaska states that Alaska is rapidly warming. The fact that does not agree with your idiotic political ideology does not change that reality one bit.

How does the fact that it snows in Alaska relate to the fact that the climate is getting warmer, and rapidly getting warmer at high latitudes?

the climate changes all the time and all by itself. but all of sudden under Obama, our climate is now out to KILL us all, unless we give control over to him and his troops of climate wrangles who has been given magic powers to stop the killer climate: from KILLING US ALL .

And if it's rapidly getting warmer, I suppose we humans will find a way to adapt without him up pretending he's the G-d of climate and only he has the answers to SAVE US

Actually, the climate is changing because of a phenomenon that is well defined by basic chemistry and physics. And it's clearly not a natural change, it's in response to U.S. Using the atmosphere as an open sewer for a century.

Your histrionics are silly and unnecessary, and only point out the fact you don't seem to get that the problem is real, it's growing, and it's not going away by itself.

you do understand that from April to September the northern hemisphere gets much sun. Isn't it amazing that the warm temperatures are during that period of time. Hmmmmmm, the sun, that yellow ball in the sky. BTW, that's been happening before man got on the planet. It's also why there are no longer miles of ice in the US. It melted. funny how the sun causes that?

What silly flap-yap you engage in.

So why did the researchers at Stanford note that it takes CENTURIES for rises like we have seen in the last 70 years to have an effect?

So why did you post such a statement without a link to the article that the statement was made in?

Like I said, how does that relate to the fact that warming, due to CO2, is occurring at a rapid rate?

The yellow band is the 5% to 95% range of output from CMIP-5 climate simulations. The mean value of each time series average from 1979-1984 is set to zero so the changes over time can be more easily seen. For this latitude band, the observations remain withing the model envelope.

Yep, quite a differance. Although the RSS does back up the fact that the Arctic is warming faster than the rest of the world. Also, that the stratosphere is rapidly cooling.

Nobody cares about fancy colorful graphs.,......but they sure do take notice when a snowstorm hits in the middle of a climate summit.

Reality is 95% perception....:2up:.....except of course, to the AGW climate alarmists.

Steve, you are a city boy for sure. Where and how I grew up, ignoring reality could get you killed. It ain't perception, it is reality.

I love it.. Your own Model's show that REALITY IS OUTSIDE OF THE MODEL PROJECTIONS.. And yet with them showing that you are a liar, you still use them... Priceless!

Not only does CO2 not control squat but the sea level rise is now being walked back by the same researcher.. Looks like the Lie is now trying to be walked back by the boys at Stanford...

No, the first three graphs are from RSS. The last one is from RSS, Met Hadley, NOAA, and the Japanese Meteorlogical Agency. A very serious discrepancy between RSS and the last three. Now the UAH graph looks more like the latter one. Still, not in total agreement. So we will see how this plays out.

Inconvenient Stanford study: 'Sea levels may not rise as high as assumed.'

Such high sea level would require a full deglaciation of the Greenland Ice Sheet and the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, and as much as 30 percent of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet – enough to cover New York City under 50 feet of water. But these estimates arose because the researchers assumed that the Antarctic ice of the Pliocene had the same isotopic composition, that is, the same fingerprint, as it does today – an assumption that Winnick and Caves challenge in their new report.

To understand the isotopic composition of Pliocene ice, Winnick and Caves began in the present day using well-established relationships between temperature and the geochemical fingerprint. By combining this modern relationship with estimates of ancient Pliocene surface temperatures, they were able to better refine the fingerprint of the Antarctic ice millions of years ago. In re-thinking this critical assumption, and by extending their analysis to incorporate ice sheet models, Winnick and Caves recalculated the global sea level of the Pliocene and found that it was 30 to 44 feet (9 to 13.5 meters) higher, significantly lower than the previous estimate.

Oh golly gee whiz. Only 30 to 44 feet. That is such good news. Surely that will not affect anything in the great port cities of the world!

I think you're a little confused.

This is a blog spinning a study about sea ice. It is only peripherally related to warming temperatures due to CO2.

And the researchers, BTW, have no issue with this fact.
