This is ridiculous. I grew up with guns in the house. The first time I pulled the trigger was when I was around five. My father had what we called a "bullet trap" in the basement. He would sight it for me and I would pull the trigger. He also taught me never, ever to point it at any living thing except in totally dire circumstances. He held his guns under lock and key. Unpopular opinion:

I think the Left has lost the culture, or is in the process of losing it. At the critical moment they got giddy and overstepped, and in America, could not crack down LEGALLY with speech codes.

They still have "the institutions" but those are failing them now. It will take awhile, and I'm not suggesting rock-solid conservatism will replace cultural Leftism. But they are losing the culture....for now.
