Went over via the tunnel, drove down to a friend's house, then across to a camp site, then back home, a week in total.

Second time Paris for a week, flew straight over after a week in Gran Canaria.

The French are 'supposed' to be renowned for their bread and cheese, and hand on heart, we get better bread and cheese in the UK. Paris was too dear for what you get, same with London.

So we just prefer to holiday in Gran Canaria in November because it's damn nice weather, beach, and great food. Plus, the Spanish are nowhere near arrogant as the French.

If France is good for you, then spot on, but not for us.

You aren't being fair to the French Army. It fought gallantly against bad odds and under incompetent leadership in 1940. French units stood in place and died to give the BEF time to get to Dunkirk and be evacuated.
