It's hard to make sense out of it all. Why hate elements that are part of and make up a larger dynamic of greatness?

In general my guess is that it's a combination of two things: First, the Left - and I'm talking "progressives", not traditional liberals - feel guilty for the power, influence, standard of living and wealth that America has and, rather than trying to inspire others to follow the same path they'd just rather bring this country down a few notches in those areas.

Second, they automatically assign an "oppressed/oppressor" relationship in virtually every area. Rich/poor, white/black, Christian/Muslim, men/women, employer/employee, straight/gay. So, because of our success and power, we are going to be assigned the "oppressor" role in almost any relationship.

So, this is why they will talk about how we're a racist country, about how our Founding Fathers were "rich white slave rapists", on and on. Since we are the "oppressor", their focus will remain on the most negative possible attributes they can identify about America.

True, but bitching about is one thing. Liberals want to pretend we've never constructed an effective formula. They're so fascinated by "change" and what they consider "progress"....they want to discard all that we know works. It's just not sensible.
