Now I've read another account that says there were still about twenty members still there...a group that was being escorted out through an exit down to the subway system...but their leaving was halted by the shot that killed Babbitt. So basically if that shot hadn't been fired the last of the members of Congress would been evacuated from the chamber. So I ask again...why was an unarmed protester shot at point blank range?
