Don't know what I think about tonight's attack on Syria...

I'm not sure why Trump didn't knock out Syrian command and control. After all, it was Assad and his lieutenants that were responsible for the chemical attacks, right?

You'd think so......
Instead they hit the so called chem plants.
Something about this whole thing reeks of bullshit.
You are playing checkers pal.
Asad is Putin's puppet. It doesn't matter if Assad is in power or not. If Trump kills Assad then Putin will simply stick another puppet in Assad's palace.
Putin doesn't give a fuck if every sand monkey in Syria is killed. All he wants is access to the seaports on the Med. sea.

So you agree that Assad didnt gas his own people.

Thought No. 1:

We cannot be the policeman of the world.

We cannot afford the expensive attacks.

Thought No 2:

Chemical attacks is where we should draw the line and act on the line being broken. Got it Obama?

We can't stand by when innocents are being tortured.

What are your thoughts?
Should have fucking nuked them, Syrians are a total waste of good land.

Syrian's are the victims, Assad and his family ought to be the target. Cut off the head of the snake, and it will become powerless.

If only there was an org whose job was to go places, find out whats going on and then tell people what they found......

and you cant afford to buy any.
Buy what? Syrians?

A few things....

1) It is likely Syria moved weapons caches out of these areas prior to the bombing they knew was coming thanks to Trump telling them it was.
2) Bombing the weapon manufacturing facilities is good. Nothing wrong with that.
3) Syria, like the rest of the M.E. is the cesspool of the world. There is no short term or long term methods that will change that. These are some very f*cked up people. Only North Korea is worse than these rouge governments and insane people.

The only hope for the M.E. would be the end of fundamentalism of the Islam religion. And that is not changing anytime soon.

Clean the whole place out once and for all. Enough is enough already!

All Russia and Putin are going to do is talk.

They are thrilled that the strikes are over, because now they
can come out of their bunkers and breathe the fresh air.

Now...they will begin to tell everybody what they will do
and how tough they are. That's all they can do anymore..."talk."

They cannot and will not engage us on a conventional battlefield
and it is not in their best interest to engage in a nuclear exchange.

They talk the talk but do not walk the walk. They are very simple
to understand.

The world understands who the bad ass is. We are careful not to engage
Russia on the battlefield because they will not take any initiative against
us. No reason for us to escalate this. No reason for us to take out Assad,
at the moment. He's the perfect Middle East Leader. He rules his people
with an iron thumb. That's the only way you can rule over there.

If you take out Assad, then Putin will install his puppet and that war will
really get out of hand. As much as Putin talks like the old Soviet Leaders
he just doesn't have the military resources they once had, and thus his
talk has no viable threat behind it.

Their consequences will wind up being...crying to the UN security council.

Russia and Assad and Putin should take Trump's lead. Just behave, end
your civil war, and we'll go away and be your ally in getting rid of ISIS.

Just don't screw with us or we will hit you. Next time your Command and
Control goes. Then you won't be able to take out these rebel forces and
Russia doesn't have the resources or capabilities that America does and thus
cannot intervene and take over.

All we have to do is just not laugh outloud when Putin threatens us.
Yeah let’s assume Putin is a blowhard. What could possibly go wrong, but full nuclear exchanges?

Not a big deal right?

It's an act which will not deter Assad, or his support from Russia. Unless the entire world's leader condemn both Assad and Russia we can expect nothing more than a war of words, or worse by this act.

It's not that I disapprove of targeted attacks with good intell on where Chemical Weapons are stored, and clear evidence on their source (someone makes them), but it did not hurt the regimes as much as economic sanctions which Trump has refused to implement thought past by Congress a year of so ago.

Trump talks a good game, but his behavior has alienated our allies and emboldened or foes. Trump needs to grow up and understand that Diplomacy - which he has all but ignored - can do wonders, and Brinkmanship ("bring it on") bravado is returned in kind, by bellicose responses.

IMO, Trump needs

  • to enforce the economic sanctions on Russia;
  • Put a cork in his mouth and fire the Ambassador to the UN;
  • Replace her with someone with the skills of a diplomat and not present the US as first among equals;
  • Fill all Ambassador posts with exceptional people with the skill of diplomats and knowledge of the culture of the nations where they are posted (not the cronies who he has surrounded himself with);
  • Fire his press secretary and appoint one who is not an obsequious liar.

It will deter Assad and it has strengthened us all over the world.

The world now knows that Putin is full of shit and is all talk.

He went from his air defenses knocking down all of our missiles to calling
for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

Every leader in the world now knows that Russia will not engage America.
Trump backed them down.

NATO has approved the strike. Which they would have with their 3
most important members participating.

You deal with Tyrants by playing on their level. You don't talk a Bully out
of a fight. A bully sees the talk as weakness and will swing. You handle a
bully by punching him in the nose the instant he suggests a fight.

Diplomacy gave North Korea Nukes and ICBM's. Trump telling them they'll
experience Fire and Fury has brought them to the negotiating table. They
understand Trump's talk. Clinton, Bush and Obama was nothing but weakness too them and they took the money we offered and the reductions
in sanctions and built their weapons.

They won't even see a reduction in sanctions until they disarm.

Even North Korea got a lesson last night. Remember, NK has been building
Syria's chemical weapons. Well, they're gonna have to step up production
now.

Just admit it. Trump carries ten times more respect World Wide than Clinton
Bush and Obama did combined. People fear Trump, they laughed at are
other leaders.

So you suggest backing down to them. There would be more chance of
war doing that. They backed down in Cuba. They have always backed
down, whenever we have shown strength.

They'll do it again.,

Attacked another nation that is absolutely no threat to the US. Syria is already in ruins. And Trump didn't go to Congress. I heavily criticized Obama for that. Yet very few Republicans are criticizing Trump.

Americans need to stop supporting the illegal Regime Change Policy. We never had any right to interfere with Syria's Civil War. We don't belong there. We need to get out.

You have to pick and choose your fights sometimes you have to send a message rather the person gets the message being sent is another thing. Assad, Russia, and Iran now know when Trump says he will use military force he means it and they have seen other countries will go in with us what remains to be seen is will they try and test him a third time.
