Lots and lots of black servers have said the majority of their non-tippers are black. I believe it was not like that 75 years ago. Probably even 50 years ago it wasn’t like this. Obviously, there’s plenty of great black Americans who have served our countries military or who are police officers , etc . A few points I would say here most important The first one tipping is a part of American culture. Because delivery drivers, hairdressers, barbers, servers all rely on tips. Although it is not mandatory to tip, it is very much frowned upon and really a horrible thing not to leave a tip for these types of folks. It’s basically an unwritten rule.

easiest way to solve this issue… if you go to a restaurant and the server is not rude or mean to you, you will leave a tip correct? Unless you are from a different country everyone in America knows and understands this. I would not be comfortable being friends or associates with somebody who goes to a restaurant and leaves zero tip.

Btw I don’t know how long the job took the driver actually could’ve taken him one hour. I don’t know how far the mileage was on the drive, how long the order took on the job as he had two different orders one he had to shop for the items and go through a cashier line and the other order was to pick the food up at the restaurant.


But the first point is the main one. And recent reporting shows tipping is down across-the-board in the USA. A shame … this is not how our ancestors brought us up.

There’s one more important point here. I believe on DoorDash. The driver is not notified if there’s a tip or not prior to accepting the order. And what has been going on with some of these delivery services is that they pool or move around tips. Which is a terrible thing to do. Meaning that if one customer leaves a huge tip the company will take a portion of that tip and use it as extra payment on an order where there is no tip left. That’s also not right for the customer who believes that 100% of their tip is going to their specific delivery driver.

Some of these delivery services have also been stealing tips from the workers. Imagine for a moment a restaurant owner steals tips from his waitresses. Of course it’s a horrible thing to do, but that is indeed what some of these delivery services have done.


Finally, some of the customers on the delivery apps have made false accusations against their drivers for not delivering the food and what happens is the driver gets fired. The customer does this in order to get free food. A very inhumane thing to do and one that has caused people to lose there livelihoods in this country. People who don’t leave tips are most likely to engage in this behavior because they don’t give a darn about anyone except for themselves when they think it’s OK to not leave a tip for somebody. So they’re most likely to be the exact same person who makes a false complaint in order to get free food.
