A man was shot dead after two assailants opened fire with automatic weapons from a van near a town centre, police said.
A second man suffered minor injuries after the apparent drive-by shooting in Brewery Road, Hoddesdon, Herts.

Both victims were white and the two suspects, also white, abandoned their van in the Lampits area of the town. Police said it was not believed the public were at further risk.

A Hertfordshire Police statement said: "It is believed the injuries were caused by automatic weapons."

A witness, who lives near the scene, told Sky News: "It's a kind of downhill slope. It looked like they came down the hill on the other side of the road, pulled up close, and opened up through the car.

"It looked like shots were fired through the car itself. It looked like him (the victim) and a friend were coming out of a health centre and both were injured.

well...twit...what this shows is that criminals in Britain...a country that confiscated guns......can get fully automatic rifles whenever they want or need them. The only difference between British criminals and American criminals is that American criminals commit murder more often......but that is changing....gangs in Europe and Australia are using guns more often...and younger.........they are just behind us in their gun crime but they are going to catch up...even with the confiscation of their guns...

When was the last time you were in the UK? I lived there for 4 years. It was awesome! You have to worry about Pikeys(gyspies) stealing things, I never had a problem with muslims and I just moved back to the states last year. Sure there is crime in London and even in smaller villages but almost all of it is from the pikeys/the Irish gypsies.

You just read a headline and think this is the way it is over there lol. Thankfully religion is on the decline there, which means their schools are improving. I don't mind guns and yes they do have guns in England, in fact my landlord of the flat I had would take me out to go hunting. So stick to your false political motivated talking points. The United Kingdom had 48 Gun murders.

The United States had 11,000 gun murders. (no, don't bore me with your FBI Statistics trying to make it look like they are doing their jobs)

CLEARLY the British Criminals couldn't get guns every time they wanted them, because I am sure that more than 48 Brits wanted to kill someone really bad last year.
