Eight YEARS of CO2 Emissions Built Into Every Tesla Model S..

My gosh but you are an uninformed ignorant dumb bunny. No, anthracite is still mined in Pennsylvania, and good old bill clinton when he created the Grand Staircase National Park locked up the largest anthracite coal reserve in the USA. Go back under your rock where you can prevent facts from entering your thick skull you 'tard.

The US-EIA confirms my statement. This chart shows the year-to-date production for 2017.

EIA - Weekly U.S. Coal Production

Total US coal production -- 321,184 thousand tons

Total anthracite coal production -- 856 thousand tons

Anthracite is a more expensive specialty coal. It's used for things like metallurgical processes, home heating (where high-sulfur coal isn't permitted), and making carbon filters. It is not used by power plants.

here high-sulfur coal isn't permitted

Who made those rules?

So far that battery is nothing more than a pipe dream that nobody who knows his physics believes till Mr.Goodenough actually proves his claims . So far this thing exists only in news releases
For his invention to work as described, they say, it would probably have to abandon the laws of thermodynamics, which say perpetual motion is not possible. The law has been a fundamental of batteries for more than a century and a half.and he avoids any and all questions.
If anyone but Goodenough published this, I would be, well, it’s hard to find a polite word,” Daniel Steingart, a professor at Princeton, told Quartz.
Goodenough did not respond to emails.
Helena Braga, the paper’s lead author, in an exchange of emails, insisted that the team’s claims are valid.
It’s what is not stated in the paper that has some of the battery community stumped. How is Goodenough’s new invention storing any energy at all? The known rules of physics state that, to derive energy, differing material must produce differing eletro-chemical reactions in the two opposing electrodes. That difference produces voltage, allowing energy to be stored.

The 94-year-old father of the lithium-ion battery says he's made another big breakthrough
Well now, we shall see, shall we not? After all, the fellow has a rather impressive track record.

Boasting up to 337 miles of range, the Model S is the all-electric dream car envied by many. Icing on the cake is Ludicrous mode, which blasts the top P100D to 60 mph in a claimed 2.5 seconds. The lower-spec models offer reduced driving ranges and features. Luxury items such as an air filter that Tesla says can protect occupants from bioweapons and pollutants—plus available high-tech features such as Tesla’s Autopilot—seal the deal.

Where do you see that in the USA?.

Now? Nowhere. Previously? Several large cities. Here's 1950s Pittsburgh.

Is there any point to this? Are you trying to say that choking clouds of coal smog are something we should try to bring back?

article-2155742-137C256C000005DC-413_964x788.jpg

Really.. Ever hear of the Pittsburgh STEELERS? You sure that was ALL from COAL???

Of course you are -- you're a religious zealot..

Yeah, they kind of have to do that after the outcry from the Tesla that bricked. Initially they were all "well if you don't put oil into your car do you blame the engine for it's failure?", which led to a pretty severe backlash. So musk was forced to extend the warranty to almost everything battery wise. Their customers have forced this level of service on them. They didn't have it initially. But, good for them for at least doing the right thing.
Link?

"Range anxiety isn't the only worry of some prospective Tesla Model S buyers. There's also a slim possibility that the electric car's battery could die permanently if left uncharged. When that happened to one Tesla Roadster, the company initially blamed the buyer. "If you ran your conventional engine without oil, whose fault would it be? It would be the owner's," said Tesla CTO J. B. Straubel. That left the unlucky owner facing a $40,000 battery replacement fee. Today, however, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that his company will bear the cost of almost any battery failure with what he calls the "world's best warranty service."

Tesla addresses 'bricked battery' concerns with nigh-unconditional warranty

Of course it is

I think everyone has noticed your source on every topic is "Ipulleditouttamyass.com".

So, why would a coal burning power plant pay twice as much for a fuel with only 20% more energy density?

Answer: They don't.

Wrong again bucko. I am no longer amazed by how stupid and ignorant you truly are....

"Anthracite contains a high amount of fixed carbon -- 80 to 95 percent -- and very low sulfur and nitrogen ----- less than 1 percent each. Volatile matter is low at approximately 5 percent, with 10 to 20 percent ash possible.
Moisture content is roughly 5 to 15 percent. The coal is slow-burning and difficult to ignite because of its high density, so few pulverized, coal-fired plants burn it."

So, Tesla addressed the problem by programming the car so that it would never let that final few percentage of charge be used. And the CTO did have a point. That early roadster did come with a warning about letting the battery go clear dead. However, given the many circumstances that can cause that to happen, Tesla addressed the problem in a way that protected them and the consumer.

I do thank you for that bit of history of the early Tesla's. I wasn't aware that had happened, or the way Tesla addressed the problem.

Really.. Ever hear of the Pittsburgh STEELERS? You sure that was ALL from COAL???

Given that modified coal (coke) is what powered the blast furnaces, well yes, I would think that. So would anyone who understands practical science and engineering.

Needless to say, that's not you.

Wrong again bucko. I am no longer amazed by how stupid and ignorant you truly are....

Nobody is amazed that you're deflecting again.

Let's summarize your evasions here.

You tried implying that coal pollution from power plants wasn't a problem, since a power plant burning anthracite coal doesn't make much coal ash.

I pointed out how that conclusion was nonsense, being that only 0.3% of current US coal production is anthracite, and it's the other 99.7% (bituminous, sub-bituminous and ligneous) which is burned at power plants.

You then tried to deflect by showing that some power plants once burned anthracite (when it was more plentiful and cheaper), which nobody ever denied, and which isn't relevant to the point. That point would be that power plants now burn dirty bituminous coal which leaves lots of toxic coal ash, so the claims of clean coal plants are nonsense.

Yes, and they were forced to do so because their buying constituency took them to task for a boneheaded comment. Let me know when you have a point.

Let me make it even simpler for you, bill clinton locked up the largest anthracite coal supply in the US in a National Park. Enough to take care of our energy need for a couple of hundred years.

Let me make it even simpler for you, bill clinton locked up the largest anthracite coal supply in the US in a National Park. Enough to take care of our energy need for a couple of hundred years.

That's the right-wing-authoritarian-conspiracy-blog version of things, sure. However, I can't find any non-conspiracy source that agrees. Your job is to now back up your wild claim with something besides "because I say so!".

Don't bother deflecting by demonstrating President Clinton created the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and that a coal mine was planned there, as we all agree on that. What you need to demonstrate is that Kaiparowitz Plateau in Utah contains "7 billion tons of low-sulfur anthracite coal", as this Clinton Derangement Syndrome website claims.

Utah’s Clean Coal Rip-off and Clinton’s Gift to Communist China

You're supposedly a geologist. That task should be no problem for you, if you weren't just parroting propaganda.
