My Mom (White, blonde, college educated, spoke fluently in several languages) had to wait over 3 years before the USA approved her move from Belgium to New York back in the day. Immigration becomes invasion at some point. Either an army conquers you and imposes itself on your culture or a huge influx of foreigners imposes itself on and defeats your culture. The result is the same.
