European and Russians to team up to COLONIZE the Moon

Obama hates space exploration, so the future in space will not belong to America. For the first time since Sputnik, America is losinig the Space Race,

And our European allies sees America as the past, and Russia as the future in space.

Another reason to hate Obama, and everything he stands for,

Proposed NASA Budget Cuts Spark Bitter Debate in Congress

So what. Zero out all climate change research and let private companies built the rockets

Your boy said Obama hates space but it's the repubs looking to cut.
SpaceX already does.

Makes me wonder about territory and soverignity. Is the Moon like Antarctica and no man's land, or can you claim bits of the Moon as your own country's as with planting your flag?

Lotta amusing time-related questions too. Whose time zone dya use? What about religious obligations that have time-sensitive components? Like for Jews and the beginning and end of the Sabbath taking place with sundown and sun up.

"A day on the Moon lasts 29.5 of our Earth days. In other words, if you were standing on the surface of the Moon, it would take 29.5 days for the Sun to move entirely through the sky and return to its original position."
How Long is a Day on the Moon?

That's gonna make a daylong fast observance tricky. :)

:) Btw, if we'll claim ownership of territory by first flag - Russia have exclusive rights both for Antarctica (which were discovered by expedition of Russian brigs) and Moon (the first Moon-landing object was also a Soviet station :)))) But I think, exploration of new horizonts for humankind must be joint, with definition of statuses of territories by facts.

Spain king tried to keep exclusive license for America colonization - so where now his attempts? :)

The Moon's gravity is 17% of Earth's. Unless you can create artificial gravity (along with your artificial atmosphere), which is far beyond modern technology, your bones would crumble within a few months of "permanent" settlement. (Example: If you weighed 200 pounds on Earth, you'd weigh 34 on the Moon.)

Trust you to source a British tabloid with about as much credibility as the Enquirer. Better sweep the Moon for aliens before you land.

This is what happens when they don't teach science in schools anymore.
