For drug abuse prevention The South is entirely reliant on D.a.r.e, MADD, the Police Athletic League, and Alcoholics Anonymous... and programs that teach kids that the police are your friends....

None of which are as effective as Legislation and Law Enforcement.. COMBINED WITH a fact based school curriculum, Little League Baseball and the common rehab clinic, and simply having a good healthy lifestyle and NOT living the ghetto, having good parents or being a good parent, and being a successful person in the first place.

And the idea that the police are your friend, is plain false.
You cannot get any more brainwashed.. The police are not your friend...
Infact, the road to the death chamber starts as soon as the Police officer asks you what your name is.

The entire system in the South with the dare program and the police athletic league and MADD and Alcoholics Anonymous and the police are your friends..
Is 1980s Ronald Reagan retarded shit, that is disproven every which fucking way from Sunday.

More stuff from the 1980s is using a Treadmill, and then a simple EKG to see if anything is wrong with the heart.

Unfortunately these are all small things with a huge impact, that you only find out about after you been here for a while and been through some life here in the south.
:p

Funny thing, the southern states do not rank high for drug abuse.

from:State-Level Data on Substance Abuse and Mental Illness | SAMHSA News
"Nine of 10 states having the highest levels of past-month illicit drug use among persons age 12 or older also had the highest levels of past-month marijuana use (in alphabetical order: Alaska, Colorado, District of Columbia, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington)." (not a southern state listed)

"Thirteen states showed significant declines in past-year cocaine use among persons age 12 or older from 2006 to 2007 (in alphabetical order: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming)." (3 southern states in the group showing greatest decline in cocaine use)

from:Teenage Drug and Alcohol Abuse Statistics by State | CRC Health Group

"The State with the highest rate of past month use of alcohol among youths aged 12 to 17 was North Dakota (24.7 percent). The State with the lowest rate was Utah (10.3 percent). Most of the States in the highest ranked group were northern, while most of the States in the lowest ranked group were southern. Nine of the States in the highest ranked group for past month binge use of alcohol for youths were also in the highest group for past month use of alcohol"

"The national average annual incidence rate for marijuana use among youths was 6.3 percent. At the State level, Arizona had the highest average annual incidence rate (8.9 percent). Five of the States in the highest quintile for past month marijuana use among youths were also in the top quintile for new use of marijuana: Massachusetts, Nevada, Delaware, Colorado, and Alaska. Of the 10 States with the highest estimated rates of incidence, 4 were in the West (Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Alaska), 2 were in the Northeast (Massachusetts and Vermont), 2 were in the Midwest (North Dakota and Wisconsin), and 2 were in the South (Oklahoma and Delaware)." (Delaware & Oklahoma in the south?)

Maybe the other regions should start looking into the D.A.R.E. program?

DARE Increases Drug Risk

:)

I have my facts right. According to several reputable websites, the south has a lower rate of drug abuse than other parts of the country.

When the rest of the country has rates as low as the south come talk to me about how the south is wrong.
