This is a good idea since many of the beggars are fakes. You don't have to understand Arabic in the video because I think you can all figure what is going on.

An actor has gone undercover as a beggar in the UAE as part of a police campaign.

Ras Al Khaimah Police has posted a video of the Emirati as part of the force’s anti-begging awareness drive.

The actor, Saed Obeid Batisha, poses as a beggar in front of a mall in RAK, wearing make-up and a dirty kandora and with the Gutra (head cover) casually wrapped around his head. He starts asking for money from passers-by as part of the police campaign, ‘Combat begging and help those who really deserve’.

Several people stop to give the ‘beggar’ money, the majority of which hand over a 10-dirham note.

But, as soon as the person hands over the money, Batisha reveals his real identity and explains that it would be better to give the money to legitimate charities rather than to a beggar, who is most likely involved in a fraud.
