FDA revokes emergency use authorization of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19

Follow the money... this is totally politics driven
Or the drug didn’t pan out like Trump wanted it to and so they’re doing exactly what they should be doing and revoking their emergency approval.

But that’s the simple solution and less fun than paranoid conspiracies.

It's high time the FDA was reined in a bunch. Another of the alphabet soup of agencies sucking on the taxpayer tit and doing little to no good who's only real interest seems to be expanding their bureaucracy and sucking all the harder.

How disappointing! I had hoped, of course, that it was effective in combating the virus, even if only in cases where it was caught early.
Well, back to the drawing board. There is another drug being studied--can't remember the name. Here's hoping it works better!

They just helped you out by proving hydroxychloroquine is a waste of money to combat the Virus. Why isn't that good?

Specious logic which no evidence based MD would ascribe to.

They DID do studies of the drug as a preventive, your article said, and it proved uneffective. There is always an exception to the rule. When I was a kid, I was so allergic to poison ivy that I could be plastered in it just from someone burning their rake pile in the backyard. Not just rash, swelled up like a balloon. So the doctor gave me a series of shots--made my arm swell up like a balloon, too. But after that, I have never in 50+ years ever had another case of it. And once I realized too late I had squatted in it to pee in the woods. I used to be a hiker, always rousting about in field and fen. Never ever had a touch of it since.
This is the kicker: About ten years after my shots, the doctors came out with the pronouncement that the poison ivy injections didn't work.
LOL

Psychosomatic maybe?

Well, let's see. Trump hasn't contracted the Chinese virus even though he doesn't wear masks and he hasn't had a heart attack, so there is that. Maybe it works?
Sometimes he wears masks. But speaking publicly, the mask is a serious hindrance to communication. Hearing impaired people rely on lip reading.

Democrats, who lack enough mirror neurons to have any semblance of a significant amount of empathy for their fellow humans, are clueless.

Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Sues FDA for “Irrational” Interference of Access to Life-Saving Hydroxychloroquine

JUNE 15, 2020 Commentary

Excerpt:

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (HOME - AAPS | Association of American Physicians and Surgeons) filed a lawsuit against Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA for “irrational interference” by the FDA with timely access to hydroxychloroquine.

Never in history have we seen such a determined effort by the scientific community and pharmaceutical industry to downplay and lie about the use of a successful drug to treat a deadly disease.

Hydroxychloroquine is the first choice in a study of 6,000 doctors treating the coronavirus.
In the field and in independent testing hydroxychloroquine displayed amazing results in treating the COVID-19 virus.

But there was great pushback against hydroxychloroquine for two reasons. The first reason was because it was safe and very inexpensive. The second reason is because Donald Trump promoted its use.

The AAPS is a fringe group of physicians that is wholely political and barely medical. They serve no purpose other than to generate press releases with an air of authority.

They have zero significant among the medical community.
