Chances are the employer already filed the appropriate paperwork, but if not, and you don't get this form, you will likely be penalized.

Yeah they did - I was making too much of it - I realized it was just something for me to keep to show I had insurance..

Hopefully. Just remember, if they come back in 4 years, and say you didn't have insurance, by the time they charge the late fees, and interest, you could owe thousands of dollars. So, yet another document you have to keep for years in storage, to avoid being crapped on by our "government of the people".

A CPA does some of my business taxes, but I do some of my business taxes myself and my personal taxes. I just don't do the ones that involve depreciation because those are a PITA.

You're supposed to keep tax forms for seven years anyway. Much easier to do with efiling.

Ok, but this is why government funded health care is so bad.

See, it's costing the government billions to pay for people who don't have insurance. This is also why we're trying to dictate how people live. We have to force people to stop smoking, because we have to pay for their health problems.

We have to force people to stop doing anything even remotely risky, because we end up paying for them when they get hurt.

We have to force people to stay off the beach when the waves are high, because otherwise we have to pay to have life guards to go save their butt.

We have to force people not drink soda. To drive with a safety belt on. To do this, and that, and on and on.

That's why we need miss Obama to force feed seaweed sandwiches to our children, so they don't get fat.

This is why we need planned parenthood, to kill off as many children as we can, so they don't end up on welfare and food stamps and so on.

This is why we need government to hand out condoms to 14 year olds, so we don't end up paying for their aids treatment.

Guys... this is socialism. This how it works. Sometimes socialists overtly attempt to force social change. But most of the time, it works like this. Every time we want the government to hand out more free stuff, the more government naturally needs to control our lives to reduce those costs.
