You do not have a true insurrection without firearms. Not just one or two firearms or even a dozen. You would need hundreds of firearms to successfully pull off an insurrection and take over the U.S. Capitol Building. Plus controlling the Capitol Building would not necessary mean you have overthrown the government.

How long could the group of basically unarmed “insurrectionists” held the Capitol Building before an armed group of police SWAT teams or National Guard overwhelmed them?

I seriously doubt the rioters could have taken over the building to begin with. The Capitol Police were armed and could have shot hundreds of rioters if absolutely necessary.
