Flat Tax Anyone?

Yeah ... well the republican's are not really conservative are they?

Well let's look at it more realistically. Republicans in Congress make $175 a year, a ton of money compared to most people. You can bet if promising to vote conservative and voting conservative got someone a $175k salary, millions would line up for the Republican jobs! In short, Republicans are as conservative as they can afford to be or as conservative as the voters want them to be.

Also, if Republicans were pure given today's electorate they would be as impotent as today's Libertarian Party

Getting elected to "congress" as someone's first political position is pretty much unheard of. 175k is not a lot of money, not when you consider they have to travel to and live in DC. Most politicians are picked by party leaders and / or have money going in. Most politicians work for free or for very very low pay. Further, the republican party leadership is stocked with ex-democrat Rhino's. Just try to get on a primary ticket for a republican election without the ex-democrat republican's putting you there.

The republicans are impotent because they have more liberals leading the party than conservatives.

travel to and from DC is free!! Plus, if voting conservative got you elected you'd vote conservative if only for the huge $175K paycheck, not to mention the fame and respect.
