Marriage at the county courthouse is a basic function of the clerks office. To deny this service to the taxpayers who fund the clerks office strictly because they hate gays is abhorrent

Gays hate the equality. They thought they could force people who didn't want to participate in their marriages to play along. Now they can't even demand that some poor clerk with a family to support be fired. That's what they really wanted. They wanted a threat. Not confused. Gay marriage is now legal in Florida, no matter how much that irks rightwingnuts. What gays want is for their marriage to be recognized by the state as a "marriage," not merely a "civil union." They have that now as all 67 Florida Counties will be issuing state certified marriage licences. Who marries them is of lesser importance.
