From your linked article:
"The law requires companies to detail how they reach conclusions about content moderation and stick to those standards consistently, DeSantis said during a press conference on Monday."

As long as the moderators follow the rules and stick to the standards, you have no complaint. This is not a free speech issue. The 1st amendment is there to prevent the gov't from silencing you. It does not apply to private property. It also does not apply when you have agreed to follow the rules set forth by the forums.

Unfortunately these Big Tech companies have got so big and become an everyday part of American life that they have to be held accountable for being shitheads.

Get Congress to update the laws.

Good luck.

We can do it here in Florida by ourselves, thank you very much.

These filthy ass companies can be Nazis elsewhere.

Update the laws? You mean change the Constitution for Trump trash?Well, that's Florida for you.
you really are deranged...pay attention---florida can not change the constitution, its a federal thing, not a florida thing
they can change THEIR laws to protect THEIR citizens from the likes of the scum demonRAT assholes...

I love this solution. It won't matter if Blue states don't follow suit. All the red state lawsuits will bankrupt the Big tech companies.

JUST IN - Florida Gov. DeSantis has just signed a bill into law that would allow everyday Floridians to sue Big Tech Platforms for monetary damages.
He is the greatest governor in history. I hope they all sue for 200 billion. Fauci says cuomo is the greatest governor because he killed so many elderly. I cant agree.

I said this on this forum last year......

And some who call themselves conservative Republicans said DeSantis was "too phony" or something like that.

The big tech companies are not basecd in Florida. They cannot enforce it across state lines. It is meaningless.

Has nothing to do with state lines, it’s blatantly unconstitutional.

It is just as unconstitutional as New York passing a law saying Fox News has to broadcast two hours of Andrew Yang talking to voters at delis.

The law attempts to compel a private company to propagate speech it doesn’t want to.

not in florida, looks like they have no use for scum bag demonRATS bullshit

Let Freedom Ring ....

Down with all who HATE the US Constitution.
Amen to that. I keep saying Desantis would be a great president,If he got elected, this would feel like America again instead of a communist dictatership as we have seen from the likes of Bush,Obama and now Biden and the previous five administrations from 1981 all the way up to 2016.

Dumbass....

Hardly. But feel free to tell me what you think is wrong with what I said. Use your words.

Time and litigation will tell. In the meantime, the forums are in the hot seat. At $100K per lawsuit, I would tread lightly if I were them.

If you agree to abide by the set rules, and then break the rules, there is nothing to litigate.

Exactly. Expect lawsuit inbound if any of my posts are censored in any way going forward :yes_text12:

Just think, I could actually own this forum with the stroke of a pen.

1st order of business....fire ALL current moderators !!!!! :auiqs.jpg:

No. He makes a solid argument and, eventually, our courts are going to have to rule on this stuff.

I will say that it's unjust that so-called "platforms" such as Twitter are protected from such lawsuits when, in fact, they act as publishers.

This forum is a perfect example of a PLATFORM. It does NOT censor speech, with the infrequent exception of when one calls for another to be murdered or for posting something pornographic, etc. Users here CAN and DO criticize masks, vaccines, etc.
No he doesn't.

You guys are comparing Apples to Oranges.

Try reading DeSantis law.

All normal thinking Americans understand that there is a difference between small private owned forums and big tech.

Only a dum.... .... only someone like yourself would attempt to confuse the two.

And how does the law differentiate? Is there a small forum version and a big tech version?

I am not attempting to confuse the two. At least a couple of people addressed the issue as it applies to this forum.
