Florida Gov. DeSantis Has Just Signed A Bill Into Law That Would Allow Everyday Floridians To Sue Big Tech Platforms For Monetary Damages

In the US, anybody can sue anybody for anything.
No, users cannot sue common carriers for the material they carry.
California woman, who sued jelly beans maker Jelly Belly for using the term "evaporated cane juice" instead of the word "sugar" in its jelly beans' food label. Jessica Gomez of San Bernadino County alleged fraud, claiming the company was misleading consumers about how much sugar the snack actually contained

Shayn Proler from the Houston Fire Department is afraid of fire. He was reassigned to an office position so he would not have to come in direct contact with what scared him, but he wanted to remain in his former job in the fire suppression unit. He claimed his fear was a disability and that he was discriminated against because of his disability. His case made it to the Texas Supreme Court, which ruled there was no evidence Proler was discriminated against on account of a disability.

you can sue anybody for anything.
You can sue FB.
HOWEVER
Passing a law to create a cause of action where none exists for the purpose of damaging specific entities is unconstitutional.
Article 1 Section 9 "No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."
sorry no facebook and tweeter are protected under federal law from liability

Govt can make laws creating a cause of action

this isn’t a bill or attained or ex post facto law. 1) it’s not criminal 2) nobody is saying they are guilty of anything
Government CANNOT make laws intended to harm individuals.
It's that Constitution you guys love to ignore.
huh? not sure what you are talking about

Neither does he
Let me be clear

I'm talking about the pandering legislation DuhDumbass just signed bragging that he was putting FB, Twitter and the rest in their place. Legislation that will fail with a huge BWAHAHAHAHA in any court they try it.

I'm also talking about the stupidity of the panderees in being unable to recognize how easily they're being manipulated
and
I'm talking about the stupidity of Tiny Minded "conservative" whose opinion of the constitution begins and ends with 2.

Richard Overton. In 1993, he sued Anheuser-Busch for $10,000 for false advertising. He claimed the beer ad caused him emotional distress, mental injury, and financial loss. Overton said the company's ads showed beer's ability to enable "scenic tropical settings [and] beautiful women and men engaged in unrestricted merriment" when this was actually not the case.

Posting these absurd cases proves nothing, moron. If the government says you can't be sued, then you can't be sued. Try suing a gun manufacturer because one of its customers shot someone.

You have pointed out a law that congress passed giving gunmakers special immunity (think of it like a congressional pardon)

Short of an act of congress preventing it. You can sue anybody for anything like I said.

The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) is a United States law that protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when crimes have been committed with their products.

Previously, I stated under the new Florida law, lawsuits can proceed against social media companies who arbitrarily censor users, up to $100,000 each.

However, in cases where the censoring is deplatforming* directed at candidates for Florida state offices, the Florida Election Commission will impose FINES of $250,000 per day, and $25,000 per day for de-platforming candidates for non-statewide offices.

* practice by a social media platform to permanently delete or ban a user, or to temporarily delete or ban a user from the social media platform, for more than 14 days

< Don't worry about what this says. just click it and it will give your the full text of the Florida law (SB 7072 - the Stop Social Media Censorship Act,)

All forums have free speech rights. Censorship can only be done by the government not private companies. There is no law to break.

They can already be sued, dingleberry.
Not according to you, Colfax and the rest of the woke morons participating in this thread.

Exactly. And the FL handjob law doesn't change that.
This law makes surviving a motion to dismiss for failure to state a cause of action much easier. If anything.
Because the law creates, from whole cloth, a "cause of action" that didn't exist before. So you can't just pretend this is about "allowing" people to sue them. It creates a new reason why they can sue them. It's setting them up for "punishment" because they banned Trump.

We're done, moron.

Congress creates new reasons for people to sue all the time.
