I never read this topic. What I replied to was moved here. I replied to what I quoted.
Nowhere in the article does it show he told any students they were racist.
The bill creates makes a crime out of teaching anything that might make a student "uncomfortable".The bill isn't about that and it clearly states so. I pointed it out several times in this topic and even provided a link.
Not any more. There is a difference between historical teaching and trying to make others feel guilty because of “ white privilege”
No one is doing that. What we do different is that we don’t try to make children feel guilty and responsible for history

I don't see them making anyone feel guilty. It's not about telling students they are racist, it's about making them feel guilty about their race.

Except...for this: An individual should not be made to feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race.No it doesn't. For the fifth time in this topic:
The bill authorizes discussion and curricula, in an age-appropriate manner, regarding topics such as sexism, slavery, racial oppression, racial segregation, and racial discrimination.
How? The concept of white privelege, whether or not you agree with it, is not about making an individual feel guilty but recognizing there are certain systems in place that continue to benefit whites over others. So now it is taboo? Then perhaps look a little harder. From the article:
Then at the start of last school year, he made a pronouncement during a discussion about police shootings that would derail his career. White privilege, he told his nearly all-White class, is “a fact.”
That's not supposed to make whites feel guilty?

That means teaching of any of those concepts could make a student uncomfortable and the teacher fired. Like the TN teacher.

I suppose we can't talk about patriarchy either because it might a male student feel guilty.
These should be called snowflake bills.
Why?
Those were all Democrat policies.
Not because of being taught history as the bill clearly outlines. What it's designed to do is stop people like that teacher from making personal comments about what is being taught. White privilege is a fact. That's not a fact, that's a very biased opinion. What if a teacher said over 50% of our murders are conducted by 7% of our population--black males. Should that be taught in school? Would you say that comment was designed to make black kids feel guilty about their race even though it's 100% truth?
Black kids are taught a lot of things that make them feel bad about being black. That's what racism is and does to the oppressed class.
White privilege IS a fact. It's been studied and quantified, but you continue to deny it because you're one of the most racist posters on this board.
The oppressed race always turns violence on itself. Black on black violence was very high in Apartheid South Africa as well. You comment only succeeds in proving the USA is a racist nation.
Just the fact that you keep separate sets of data for blacks, whites, and hispanics on EVERYTHING proves the basic racism that is the root of your racial problems.
And that's a complete lie. They were SOUTHERN policies, supported by both Republicans and Democrats.
You make a very big deal about the fact the Northern Republicans joined with Northern Democrats to pass the Civil Rights Act, but ignore the fact the SOME Southern Democrats members of the House and of both the House and Senate voted in support of that legislation but not one Southern Republican voted in favour of the Bill.
Republicans are really good at taking credit for Democrats achievements, and then blaming Democrats for Republican failures.

The level of brain dead denial from the left is truly alarming. No one is doing that.
