For one fleeing Shiite family, extremist push in northern Iraq ends a way of life

NAJAF, Iraq -- The mortars rained down for 12 hours, an eternity for members of the Hassan family who huddled together in a single room, the children screaming and the adults praying to die in the shelling rather than be slaughtered by the Islamic State militants who rampaged into the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar two weeks ago.

Unlike many of their neighbors, the Hassans survived, all 19 of them, and the next day they fled their hometown on the same road they’d used in two previous displacements _ once when U.S. forces battled Sunni Muslim extremists in 2004, and again in 2005 during sectarian pogroms. But after a harrowing, five-day journey to this southern Shiite holy city, the family has given up on Tal Afar.

a "NAQBA" no matter how many are murdered, displaced, injured
and raped. The events of the past few years will produce no social
caste of ***ETERNAL REFUGEES**** ----the whole thing will
vanish from the memory of man and the pages of history---the missing
feature in this non-event----is KAFFIR. Does anyone talk about
the genocide in east Pakistan and rape of 1/4 million girls as a Naqba?
Does anyone talk about the deaths of 10s of thousands of Jordanians?
???? does anyone worry about the 100s of thousands (probably

You are so right. Nobody is obsessed (especially some posters here who can't wait to jump on anything which is happening in Israel that they feel they can make hay with or keep regurgitating ad nauseam that there were so and so Arabs and so and so Jews) with what happened in Bangladesh or with what happened to the murdered 2 million plus Christians in the Sudan and many other incidents which didn't involved the Kaffirs. Right now there are over 2 million refugees from Syria alone, and there are posters who don't seem concerned with that. Many of these people will never see their home countries again. No doubt, if these posters had been around then, they would have had no sympathy either for the millions and millions of displaced people as a result of the Nazis.
