Here you go. This country says it is a Democracy. Do you want to live like this country?

While it is not on our continent, check it out. Democracy in the US is a pipedream. Why? We have a republic. A Democracy stands for a country that the public votes on all issues. Voting for rulers is not democracy.
Democrats want to be Rulers.

Republicans want this nation to work like the Republic for which our Flag stands.

The Constitution still works and Americans can hire and fire every single politician and their bureaucratic staffers every 2-4 and 6 years. The problem for democracy is when the media becomes a dishonest propaganda arm of a political party like it is today and voters become apathetic or brainwashed by the left wing media.

I notice every time we talk about Democracy, Republicans like to point out that we are not a democracy we are a Republic. Why is that?

The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government. That is, we have an indivisible union of 50 sovereign States. It is a democracy because people govern themselves. It is representative because people choose elected officials by free and secret ballot.

The United States is a representative democracy. This means that our government is elected by citizens. Here, citizens vote for their government officials. These officials represent the citizens' ideas and concerns in government.

The main difference between a republic and a democracy is the charter or constitution that limits power in a republic, often to protect the individual's rights against the desires of the majority.

Is this why gays can be married even if 60% of us don't like it? Because it's unconstitutional to deny them that?
