The worst part about this is that it has now ignited in the U.S and outside its border a clear distrust of the U.S justice and legal system.

I've been saying for some time that you are allowing some to destroy your own country to protect the Political Class. There is little mystery as to why Europe is turning further right, such trials against a former president are a stark reminder to citizens of the world.

It makes no sense to me. They have neutered the Middle Class and any dissent.

In the NY court system convictions are a dime a dozen.
Nobody expected anything else from that orchestrated piece of crappy legal work. Technique used to reach back in time and reclassify actions to make them more prosecutable if something that could be done to 100% of the population at any time.

The law is the law. Been in place since 1965. Certainly an argument could be made that it is a bad law but that is outside the scope of the courts. They enforce law, they don't have power to change it.
