What Is The U.S. Doing About The Failed State On Its Southern Border?

4 hours ago · What Is The U.S. Doing About The Failed State On Its Southern Border? A failed state just surrendered a drug lord's son and a whole city to a drug cartel. In a sensible world, this would ring alarm bells in the Pentagon. A failed state just surrendered a drug lord's son and a whole city to a drug cartel. The nation's president praised the surrender. The government is powerless and corrupt and compromised. Mexico’s leftist president and vocal U.S. critic Andrés Manuel López Obrador was elected to deal with the cartels and gangs.
Anarchy is worse than tyranny. The events in Mexico show that it is no longer an independent.

Comment:
This has been a serious problem for years and is only getting worse. Democrats will try to stifle this because it means that Trump is right about our need for a border wall and tighter security.
Mexico has had four revolutions or more in their history. And General Pershing assisted in making sure it wouldn't spill over onto U.S. soil last time.It will inevitably spill into the US. In many ways it has. Democrat Plantation Sanctuary cities and states continue mouthing the same platitudes and don't think for a minute that when the ****f hits the fan here, those illegals will turn on the hand that's been feeding them You can bet Mr. President Trump will ensure that it doesn't come here. The cartels know that and work with the Progressive Marxist Socialist/DSA Democrats because they know the American citizen will decimate them before they even have a chance as we done in the past
IMHO, there's little difference between terrorist groups like ISIS and the drug cartels south of the border. ISIS and their ilk are motivated by religion as a way to obtain total control over a region and its people while the cartels use the enormous profits from drug sales as their motivating force. Both are evil and both need to be destroyed. When will Mexico realize the problem they face and ask for our help? Likely never for they are simply too scared, or ignorant. Of course, one has to also question the participation of those in America in the aiding of these drug cartels, but there is too much corruption based on illicit money for much progress to be made here. The living in Mena Arkansas can remember it well.
It almost makes one wonder if PMS/DSA Democrats desire for open borders is motivated by more than the illegal votes they hope to garner.

Syria may be an enemy state...but Mexico is no friend.

Mexico As Our Enemy ..Colonel Douglas Macgregor, ret.

Mexico sided with Germany against us in WWI

Mexico was the platform for the KGB all throughout the Cold War

For the last 40-50 years, anyone heading North through Mexico, saying that they were going to the United States, was given free transport on Mexican public transportation.

They have enough cash on hand to support a small army. In other words an army stronger than the mehican army.

And those soldiers have to be paid. The money won't last long.

The cartels have multi billions of dollars at their disposal.
Mehico spends 6 billion on their military and thats spread across the entire country. The cartels take in between 19 and 29 billion annually.
If push came to shove the cartels would kick some mehico ass.

How does that manage illegals?

They will be far fewer illegals if they're not fleeing the cartels.

How does that manage the human trafficking

The human trafficking comes along with your emphasis on "managing the illegals". Your policies create the problem there. If there's less trouble crossing the border legally, people don't need to be trafficked across.

How does that stop presidents authorizing the sale of guns to cartels?

How can the cartels buy guns from the USA without drug money?
Lol. So you are saying that the left is lieing about them wanting to come here for more money and a better life they are actually fleeing a cartel.

I take it you have no idea that organizations like the mafia and yakuzza have other things besides liquor. Once probation was repealed they found other things to go into.

I must hand it to you. You don't care about people or young children being sold into slaver or even sexual servitude. Good for you. You really prove that the left cares nothing for people.

I despise illicit narcotics and their use. So many lives have been destroyed. I just don't believe that prohibition is the best way to combat the problem.

Legalize drugs here. Problem solved.

I agree. If it's legalized, all the money goes away and so do the drug cartels and all of their violence. America's appetite for drugs created the Mexican narco-state.
That's not at all true. One of the reasons it is not true is because drugs are just a part of cartel criminal operations. Legalize drugs and it will be the same as it is in states where drugs have been decriminalized. There will be legal outlets selling drugs and the illegal sellers operating just the same. Just cheaper and untaxed.

Marijuana Legalization Has Led To More Use And Addiction While Illegal Market Continues To Thrive - RiverMend Health

Legalize drugs and it will not even address sex slavery, trafficking of minors, extortion, kidnapping, murder for fun or hire. The whole spectrum of crime will still proliferate.

Sell it cheap and then there is no need for a black market.

As the old saying goes "the only sure way to kill a black market is to flood it".

I have a solution.

1. Confiscation of drugs via police action.....

2. Adulteration of the drugs with a chemical which, over time, turns the skin green.

3. Recirculation....sell the drugs via undercover agents....the sale would support the program so drug users, rather than taxpayers, support it.

4. Arrest the green people.

Problem solved.

The black market is deadly. Flood it and the dead will pile up like cord wood. It's a disease. What happens when you flood a population with disease?

We should get serious for a change, declare REAL (not phony) war on the cartels, eliminate them, bring Central & South America into a new and powerful trade behemoth, thereby motivating Central & South Americans to stay home in the countries they love, and watch them flourish, as we do too.

We then tell the Chinese and the Russians to go fuck themselves.

Something like that maybe. But we don't have the ability any more, because we're too busy with partisan squabbling to work together.

Unfortunately you're correct. The Mexican Federal es/Police just surrendered a town to the El Chapo cartel and released his son from arrest. What does that tell us about the government and the situation in Mexico? The government is weak and corrupt and is not an ally or friend to America.... Something we've known for a long time and have done nothing to stop.
