Are people that are collecting long term unemployment benefits, have given up looking for a job or find themselves dependent on government to survive basically freeloaders or victims of a Obama/Democrat driven economy?

..and the working Americans that are forced to pay for the this new (Obama/Democrat driven) entitlement unemployment insurance benefits merely victims but should be ecstatic about it?

All I can address are those I personally know. Freeloaders who use the system rather than work. They make the ones I read about all too believable.

At some point they become freeloaders. It really depends on how long they've been unemployed and how many jobs they turned down because the pay wasn't quite what they wanted or the job wasn't what they liked. Sometimes you have to do things you don't like and make sacrifices. But in the day and age there is no longer any shame in receiving any type of welfare. And yes being on UEI for over a year is welfare. IMO

They/we are all victims of an Obama economy who will do anything to protect America from becoming prosperous. It is the goal of socialism....redistribution of wealth. It is the goal of Barack Obama who loved the lessons he learned from Karl Marx and here is one of them.

4. A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism."

In this video at the 2:00 mark John Stossel shows how many businesses are hiring around a welfare office with a huge line of people claiming that they can't find a job.

Obama created the great 49ers and the 29ers, in employment. Employers are screwed if they hire more ppl than 49 and 29ers are screwed because they will be considered full time employees and all will see healthcare premiums and deductibles inflate.

He is successfully killing the economy. Three more years of misery.

Here's a trend you'll be reading more about: part-time "job sharing," not only within firms but across different businesses.

It's already happening across the country at fast-food restaurants, as employers try to avoid being punished by the Affordable Care Act. In some cases we've heard about, a local McDonalds has hired employees to operate the cash register or flip burgers for 20 hours a week and then the workers head to the nearby Burger King BKW -0.45% or Wendy's to log another 20 hours. Other employees take the opposite shifts.

Welcome to the strange new world of small-business hiring under ObamaCare. The law requires firms with 50 or more "full-time equivalent workers" to offer health plans to employees who work more than 30 hours a week. (The law says "equivalent" because two 15 hour a week workers equal one full-time worker.) Employers that pass the 50-employee threshold and don't offer insurance face a $2,000 penalty for each uncovered worker beyond 30 employees. So by hiring the 50th worker, the firm pays a penalty on the previous 20 as well.

I wonder how fast those that have been collecting checks for 2 years would get out the door and
go out and get a job if their checks were stopped.

It is a fine line, isn't it? I suppose it would depend person to person.

of course "victims of a Obama/Democrat driven economy" is erroneous. There are such people under every administration, and the present state is not much different despite the lasting impacts of the 2008 crash.

There are other demographic factors that seem to easily trick the reactionary observer. People are living longer and, as such, are adding to the numbers at a slow but constant rate.

And of course the number of new retirees since 2009 has accelerated as well, as baby boomers have begun arriving at that age.
