I am not an American, so there is something that I can't understand about Trump and American Politics.

If Trump has done everything that Cohen has suggested, why do the Republican members of Congress blindly just try to defend him or attack the other side.

The same occurs from the Democrats side that they just defend their side to the end rather than try to find the truth and a better USA.

Can anyone explain it?

But wouldn't most elected representatives find re-election easier if they were to look out for the best interests of the citizens? I know that in all democracies ethics problems exist but it seems very pronounced in the US.

what country are you from???

so we can see why you even have the gaul to ask about ours

Not being judgemental. Just asking why neither side worries about the truth rather than the politics. Certainly it isn't an exclusive USA thing, but like I said, it seems pronounced.

The US has a two party system. Refusing to vote for the candidate of one party is the same as voting for the ther party’s candidate. So many people chose the lesser evil instead of taking a stand.

Since I don't know you,(And respectfully don't feel obliged to answer) I was just curious and my nationality is irrelevant to my question.

This I understand. I have been following US politics for several decades. Regardless of the two party system, if you are a candidate, you side with what ideological principles you mostly align with. Capitalistic/Right Leaning/Republican Socialistic/Left Leaning/Democrat. But if I was a Democrat during the Clinton impeachment process, I would want to know the truth, and if a Republican today, same thing.

not if youre some commie prick just trying to stir the pot
Nope. I would say I am a socialistic capitalist. Get rewarded for your hard work but remember the poor folk when you do. Not communist in any way. Love the USA, but your political systems seems at times to defy logic.

Because it’s like being in a gang .

This happens everywhere. It’s not an America thing .

I don't want anything, as someone who isn't American, I don't have the right. (Although globally, the better the USA, the better the world)

Certainly, I am sure it does. It just doesn't dominate the world news like the USA.
