I am not an American, so there is something that I can't understand about Trump and American Politics.

If Trump has done everything that Cohen has suggested, why do the Republican members of Congress blindly just try to defend him or attack the other side.

The same occurs from the Democrats side that they just defend their side to the end rather than try to find the truth and a better USA.

Can anyone explain it?

Because in America, your side being right is infinitely less important than the other side being wrong.
