I support the people of Ukraine in their incredibly brave fight against the Russians.

I can understand the urge to send them money and weapons. Trump did that when Democrats would not.

What had Putin done up until 2012? At the time that statement reflected the current state department assessment of the threat Russia posed. He was yet to annex Crimea and he was yet to get hip deep in Syria and dozens of other provocations. At the time Romney's statements seemed alarmist and was probably just meant to get the old cold warriors on his side rather than prescient.
