Hi guys,
this is my first post so I thought I'd make it a classic!
Operation Condor
The 'Terror Archives' discovered in 1992 revealed the true extent of the political repression between 1975 - 1985 in South America. Operation Condor aimed to eliminate or intimidate those with left wing views in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay and was approved by the CIA. Records show that almost 500,000 people were murdered, tortured or simply disappeared between 1975-1985 for having left wing views. Manuel Contreras, head of Operation Condor and responsible for thousands of murders was on the CIA's payroll, something the CIA claim to be 'an administrative error'.
