Two German warships docked in South Korea are set to sail through the Taiwan Strait over the next few days, sources told Nikkei Asia, as Berlin risks angering Beijing with a move it has not taken in more than two decades.

....

"The German Navy is making a visible contribution to maintaining the international rules-based order, as emphasized in its Indo-Pacific guidelines, by passing through the Taiwan Strait,

Good to see. The whole world needs to do things like this.

Violating Chinese territorial water is a good thing?

Violating Chinese territorial water is a good thing?

It is not their territorial waters, thus the point.

We do not get to claim all the water between us and Hawaii as our territorial waters

They have been invited by Taiwan, freedom of navigation. Don't worry comrade, China is going to win in due time. In the meantime you should cheer fir Americas success.

Taiwan isn't recognized by the UN as an independent country, it's recognized as part of China. So according to the UN, the Taiwan Straight is Chinese territorial waters.

Yes, China will win it's conflict with Taiwan eventually, because Taiwan is in a demographic death spiral. By 2100, it will have less than 10 million people.

According to the UN, it is

Taiwan is part of China. The Formosa straight is Chinese territorial waters.

You might need a link for that.

Territorial waters normally extend 12 nautical miles. The Taiwan Strait is 110 nautical miles wide. China does not get to just claim it all for themselves.

Uh, the US claims 200 miles.

China also has strong claims.

Does China govern Taiwan or do they have their own elected PM and government? Does Taiwan use the yuan or do they use the New Taiwan Dollar for their currency? Do Taiwan citizens speak Taiwanese (among other dialects)? How about the conparison from Chinas perspective, do Mainland Chinese speak Taiwanese? If not for Russia, China wouldn't have had so much power of the permanent veto. Communism was speead to their Mainland. If not for the greed of the West, China would still have an economy and technically stunted environment as Moscow does. Yes, they will win, only because of the cerebrally challenged and greedy Western oligarchs

You are wrong again...

The Office of Coast Survey depicts on its nautical charts the territorial sea (12 nautical miles), contiguous zone (24nm), and exclusive economic zone (200nm, plus maritime boundaries with adjacent/opposite countries).

The 200nm is for the exclusive economic zone, it does not preclude other ships from passing through. It just deals with the resources within those 200nm.

I'm not sure if I can correct your ignorance here, but let's go.

Taiwan calls itself "The Republic of China".
They speak Mandarin
They write in Hanzi (which would be traditional Chinese characters).
They are ethnically Han Chinese. (97% Han Chinese compared to the mainland, which is a mere 91% Han Chinese)

The entire UN realized that Beijing was the legitimate government of China, controlling most of the territory and population. That's why they voted in 1971 to take the UN seat away from Taiwan and give it to Beijing, and frankly, it never should have taken that long. Only the US kept Taiwan on the Security Council, even though it wasn't even a minor power.

The Communists did not win the civil war because of "Russia"; they won it because Chiang Kai-Shek was a corrupt little stooge of the West who let the Japanese overrun half the country. Even his allies thought he was kind of worthless, referring to him by nicknames like "Peanut" and "Cash My Check". The west was perfectly willing to let Mao have Taiwan, too, until the Korean War broke out and we found it useful to maintain the "Republic of China" fiction.

China is succeeding because of the drive, work ethic, and genius of the Chinese people. China was in fact, the world's largest economy until 1750, when it was overtaken by the British Empire, and then the US. Only a matter of time before it is again.

Blah, blah, blah... We can make ridiculous claims, so can China.

We freaked out because a weather balloon went off course.

The speak many dialects inckuding Hakka. Mandarin etc. They call themselves Taiwanese onky referring themselves as.Chinese in the traditional.sense since they were the nationalists fiting the communists. I provided the large poll last time.we debated this to prove this point.

China is in an even bigger demographic death spiral.

I guess. But still pretty stupid to get involved in an internal Chinese matter. Especially when your military is a joke like Germany's is these days.

China is not going to start a war, you of all people should know this.
