Global Capitalism Will Never Lift Workers Out of Poverty, with firms like Apple maximizing labor exploitation while keeping workers chained to poverty

Is it possible to imagine and bring about a world where poverty chains are a thing of the past? Part of this struggle is to recognize worker poverty where it exists, and to support workers campaigning and fighting against it

Apple slaves bucked!
They escaped and went home to harvest crops.
I doubt they've all been rounded up or killed by their government yet.
One reason I wouldn't buy anything Apple these days.
Another is that I've been PC forever, but the Apple dudes respected me back in the day.
I was one of the few they'd let into their room without aggressive hacking.
We got along, I just used different stuff is all. Some stuff was universal and could be learned from them, though.

U California economist Gabriel Zucman estimated 8 percent global financial wealth worth $7.6 trillion is hidden in offshore tax havens

Workers are in poverty because they want to be in poverty. People are worth what they get paid. Whatever they earn is the best they can do because if they could do better they would, unless they just prefer where they are at. What exactly do you expect if you are are working fast food 15 hours per week?

Within our history one was most fortune to just have a job
Now that has become worker exploration in lazy lib loon land

My fact statements often stop these feelings frenzy threads from lib loons dead in their tracks

Because 100 million people can be engineers.

So, you think fast food workers should get paid the same amount as engineers?

When you can't address my point, make up one for me to argue about. Do you understand how weak this is?

I argued against the idea that everyone could get a good paying job and asked how that is supposed to work, not that every job pay the same.

Want to try again? No, I didn't figure.

Ah, now I understand. You are ok with engineers earning more money and for government benefits for those who only want to work 15 hours per week at fast food. There are many job openings just about everywhere because the government is helping freeloaders so much they don't want to work.

A previous analysis from the conservative think tank found that federal supplemental unemployment benefits, food stamp expansions, child tax credit payments, and other benefits offered in the aftermath of the lockdown-induced recession could exceed $120,000 in multiple states as labor market tensions were exacerbated by the handouts.

Those have ended and I have no idea what that has to do with anything I've said.

People choose to work 15 hours a week at Walmarts and McDonalds. That's THEIR choice. It's not the fault of the one percenters.

People have to do that but all the same, I guess we aren't going to get an explanation as to how everyone can land a good paying job.

In order to land a good paying job you have to want to. You either have to go to college, a trade school, or do something to get the good paying job. I did that my very self. I quit a factory job to work at a pizza chain where I went in on my own time without getting paid to learn management stuff. Then I went on to become an assistant manager, then manager, then moved to other companies and relocated several times where I was manager and a manager who trained other managers and then eventually owned my own business. People are just content working 15 hours per week at minimum wage and then want either businesses or the government to give them more money, without having to do anything in return. There are chiefs and there are Indians. If you choose to be an Indian then you get what you choose.

Globalism largely benefits the rich and larger corporations, as they can effectively exploit global market opportunities.

Everyone else gets fucked.

Yes, now millions and millions must do the same and have those jobs awaiting them. They do not exist. And whatever it is you did would pay minimum wage if there were 25 million people qualified for it also.

China practices a different brand of capitalism that isn't recognizable to Americans.

It's capitalism that's kept under control by government, because they don't ignore the needs of all their country's people.

That flies directly in the face of the American way.

Good for the OP introducing the topic!
It's been a long time coming.
China practices fascism, just like the United States.

The minimum wage argument is a myth. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. You would be pretty hard pressed to find any business anywhere who actually pays someone $7.25 per hour. But, if you were to find one, it is probably such a small mom and pop that they couldn't afford to pay more than that. You want to put that small mom and pop out of business so that the Walmarts of the world get bigger and bigger and mom and pops all go out of business. In other words, you want socialism where there are no stores but Walmart and there are no restaurants other than McDonalds and you will impose your will on them through legislation.

If 25 million people were lined up for a job, that job would pay minimum wage. Still, no answer how millions and millions all land good paying jobs.

Maybe they all can be managers? Since there is no one under them because they are all managers, there then becomes nothing to manage.
