So now people would have an incentive to NOT get insurance until they get sick, and everyone that does get coverage when healthy ends up holding the bill. Occasionally, one has to be reminded that covering expensive pre-existing medical conditions is an insurance abomination. It is EXACTLY the same as requiring auto insurance companies to cover you retroactively, after you have had a catastrophic auto collision. Or requiring fire insurance companies to cover your house that burned down yesterday.
That is not "insurance" it is an ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM, funded by individual customers of the insurance company.
It is this perversion of insurance in ACA that resulted in premiums going through the roof. As every cogent observer knew they would. This was the LIE of ACA that every Democrat now denies.
If expensive pre-existing conditions are to be covered, that must be the subject of a new government entitlement program - an unconstitutional one, to be sure - and funded openly with taxpayer dollars.
