There are some cities that are just gone. New York is one. Stuff it full off invaders and let them fight for civilization.

The man may have gotten slashed anyhow. You take your life into your own hands on the NYC subway- especially in a dangerous neighborhood. This fellow was in Brooklyn, one of the most vile heckhole communities in the city. I guess its a fine place for someone like Mike Tyson or Bad News Brown or other pugilist types.

But most people need to be armed to defend themselves in the subways.
