It most probably is seasonal. Other Coronaviruses are. In the lab scientists lower the temperature to 40 degrees to keep it from deteriorating. As long as it can find hosts that are not immune, it will be with us. Assuming it is seasonal, the shell of the virus will begin to deteriorate due to higher temperatures and humidly. The question for scientist is how much deterioration will actually occurs. If it's like the flu, there will be a lot of deterioration in the shell and the number of new cases will drop a lot. However, it could be similar to some other viruses and we would see only a small reduction in the number of cases.

For the virus to literally move from the northern to the southern hemisphere it would depend on the number carriers making the moving. I would think changes in temperature and humidity would be the primary factors in seasonality. The virus can replicate itself in huge number if conditions are right. So even if there is a huge decrease in there numbers in the summer, they can come back like gangbusters in the colder months.
