Dear Houstonians! Lakewood Church is inaccessible due to severe flooding! We want to help make sure you are safe. Please see the list below for safe shelters around our city, and please share this with those in need!

Osteen and his wife live in a $10.5 million mansion in the upscale River Oaks neighborhood in central Houston. The neighborhood was hit with intense flooding over the weekend, with rescue teams coming to evacuate residents and their dogs. The preacher did not say whether his home was damaged.

Lakewood Church has previously helped with relief efforts in the city, most recently hosting a benefit concert in 2016 after heavy flooding. In 2001, the church sheltered roughly 5,000 Texans displaced by a tropical storm.

But the church’s response to Harvey drew harsh criticism on social media, with hundreds of users saying Osteen owes the city more than his prayers.

Unless you can provide evidence that the Church was not actually inaccessible due to flooding,

then Osteen did nothing wrong, and those that say he did are brainless morons.

The Church was NOT actually flooded and has now opened its doors to those who have been displaced by the storm but only because they were shamed into doing so by social media, which published pictures of the church sitting high and dry and quite accessible.

IF that is true, than he was a shitty preacher for closing the doors.

I've never liked him, he's plastic and a fraud.

He'll answer for it someday

Basically sounds to me like bad blood, someone doesn't like Osteen, Christians or mega churchs or someone is trying to simply stir shit. To be fair while the church itself appears to have not sustained any damage how do we know access to it wasn't flooded? We don't so it looks to me that not jumping to conclusions would be the wisest approach.

there is a major Twitter campaign going on by the usual Xian bashers, which is the only reason the Hive addicts even made a post on it; their fashion victims and tools, is all. Osteen is a particular target because there is never anything they find on him. lol

't that good ol' Christian values.

"And God said 'fuck you all mother fuckers, this is my universe, piss off to your own fucking universe, assholes'"

The new Christian Bible, as preached in Texfuckyouras.
Just remember, Noah would have shut the doors to the ark on you.

God APPROVED.

I never could figure out why anyon would care what or if I judge. Didn't know my opinion was so powerful and relevant. Who the hell am I! :dunno:

Osteen is a quack anyway. Big old faker
Judge not ..... Unless you're a leftist.

that would be the wise choice re Osteen. He doesn't take a dime from the church, he last drew a salary in 2004 or thereabouts, and in fact paid off its bonded debt of millions out of his own pockets. He also pays for his speaking tours out of his own pocket as well. His wealth comes from having over 20 best sellers, with publishers in bidding wars over his next one; one he wrote in 2014 brought in around $12 million in up front money from just one book deal, so yes, he's worth many millions, also gives away many millions, and despite the stupid idea that pastors and ministers don't have to pay taxes, he does pay taxes, and every other pastor and ministers do as well.

Thanks for the info.

I know NOTHING about the man, except I "judge" him to be a sincere, honest, and good man.

I'm just fed up with immoral leftists taking the moral high ground. and feeling justified in judging others.

They are fools I am weary of tolerating.

Never anything they find on him???

He's not an ordained Minister. He studied media and communications at Liberty University but didn't graduate. He lives in in a $5 million dollar mansion paid for by his parishioners donations. That's enough right there to call him a charlatan.

As Jesus said "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God".

This man lives in a 10 million dollar home, due directly from contributions from those who now seek shelter....its only fitting that he was shamed in order to open his doors to his precious money making worship house....gotta love these mega preachers.

Its been proving, the Preacher was lying, the church is now open due to social media shaming the hell out of the guy.

So how about we make you snowflakes happy and shelter some people in a church that is severely flooded.
? Yeah, I don't get it.
tigerred....... Need I say anymore? :dunno:
Uh, the tiger here and the church is now open to the public...the man was lying, which is typical of the mega rich...love taking your effin money, but hate giving some of it BACK
ter receiving heavy criticism for keeping its doors closed while thousands remained without shelter, Pastor Joel Osteen’s Houston megachurch will open its doors on Tuesday to residents who have been displaced by the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

“We have never closed our doors. We will continue to be a distribution center for those in need,” reads a statement by church spokesman and Osteen’s father-in-law Donald Iloff from Monday, according to CNN.

The post included a long list of resources for those affected by the storm, including the street addresses for nine temporary shelters in Houston and surrounding counties.
As typical for a hack you omit the parts of the article you hope people won't read. Too bad they closed the church though eh? All those refugees could have gone swimming inside as well as outside the church (if the inside was flooded), that would have really helped out those in need.
Oh and I love the assumption that Osteen isn't helping out in other ways considering neither the article author or any of us know one way or the other whether he is or not.
