It'd be so simple to just say, "I makes me feel better believing that there is a God." That's a perfectly reasonable statement.

What is so objectional to many is the attempt to make god a source of objective authority that applies to others.

And, I've heard it used as a way to not take personal responsibility for personal actions.

I have no doubt that this is true for you.

It is, though, not true for many people, for people that have definitive knowledge of science. Science, which includes evolution, does not require any belief at all.

See, this is a perfect example of the problem, that of making absolute statement regarding what other people know and believe.

The 'Big Bang Theory' is just, as the term implies, a theory and not a fact. It can't possibly be a fact because, by definition, nobody was alive to see it happen.
