Ignoring calls to pull back, Gaetz slams Cheney in her home state

Rep. Matt Gaetz's rally flouted Republican leadership's appeal to temper the intraparty conflict.

Matt Gaetz fired off a barrage of insults against his colleague Liz Cheney during a rally in her home state of Wyoming on Thursday -- Gaetz revealed his intention to campaign against Cheney after she and nine other House Republicans voted to impeach Trump. The measure was the most bipartisan impeachment in U.S. history. "The truth is that the establishment in both political parties have teamed up to screw our fellow Americans for generations," Gaetz said. Gaetz also attacked Cheney for the role her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, played in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. "The real cowboys, I guess, fought the Indians so they could use the land, but what are America's soldiers even fighting for that Liz Cheney sends around the world?" he added. "Places that most Americans couldn't even point to on a map."


I always find it adorable to watch Republicans rail against the Bush era and the Iraq and Afghanistan invasion like they were not 1000% onboard with it for years. I do find it refreshing that Gaetz is willing to say that both the Democrat and Republican establishment have screwed Main Street Americans at the behest of Wallstreet -- which is confusing because Gaetz also claims that Biden is a radical leftist socialist terrorist -- but words don't matter to Republicans, they just say shit for feels...

When Cheney opposed direct stimulus payments to main street Americans, I didn't see all of this talk from Gaetz....when Cheney was against $2000 stimulus checks the first time around and the second time, Gaetz didn't blow up like this (probably because he was opposed to them too, until Daddy was for it). It took her voting to impeach Trump to make him finally lose it.?? Ok.....This is just another epsiode of Gaetz clout chasing and simping for his cult daddy but its always fun to watch....Basically, the GOP is having to devour itself in order to stay in good standing with its batshit crazy base....
