Yes. For all of their use of dead children after any shooting, and their claims of "if it saves just one child's life," The center to prevent gun violence...doesn't want to prevent gun accidents involving children.....

CSGV Petitions Against Firearms Safety Education and Free Gun Locks - The Truth About Guns

That’s right, the so-called Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has started a petition on its website to tell the US Department of Justice to cancel a $2.4 million grant to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’sProject ChildSafe. What makes the NSSF so egregious? Let’s start with the fact that . . .

Funds will go toward providing firearm safety education messaging and free gun locks through NSSF’s Project ChildSafe program to communities throughout the country, to encourage responsible firearm storage and help reduce firearm accidents, theft and misuse.

And God knows we can’t have that. One more time: the CSGV would rather curtail a program that actually saves childrens’ lives than see safety education funds administered by the firearms industry’s trade association.

So....they are more than happy to have kids killed with guns if they can use those deaths to push their agenda....

Keep in mind, gun accidental death killed 69 children in 2013....and with gun safety education that low number could be lowered even more, and would also increase gun safety in the wider community as those children spread the knowlege to their families, and then as grow up into adults...it would then help reduce accidental gun deaths in the wider community over the years...

But....dead kids are great on camera....and with the fact that as more Americans own guns and carry them for self defense...12.8 million people now carry guns for self defense...the gun murder rate and the gun accident rate are both going down, not up.

You would think the gun murder rate and the gun accident rate going down is a good thing....but not if you want gun control....if you want gun control then you need gun murders and gun accidents and people afraid of guns. If that means stopping gun safety education for kids...so be it....they want guns banned...and if they have to break a few eggs to do it...as long as they can get in front of a camera it will be a win...

Anti gun loons simply hate guns.
They have no cognitive reason for this hate, they just hate them.
As a result, they mindlessly oppose anything to do with guns that does not lead to further restrictions on their purchase, ownership. possession and/or use by the law abiding.
:dunno:

One more agenda spending lots of time, effort and MONEY we don't have to address something that MIGHT happen in a miniscule percentage of the population. And we have zero input in the matter. It just gets shoved through the system.

Hypocrites all.

Not at all interested in gun safety, only interested in banning guns.

I agree. We shouldn't be teaching kids how to lock up guns. There is nothing safe about a gun that isn't in your hand and ready to fire when needed.
