American law enforcement agencies reported a total of 14,249 homicides for 2014, a homicide rate of 4.5 per 100,000 population, unchanged from 20133.

The same Departments reported a total of 11,961 murders for a 2014 murder rate of 3.7476, or 3.8 per 100,000 population.

Both numbers are worth noting, since most countries report murder and not homicide rates.

8,124 murders were committed with firearms, 5,562 with handguns, 262 with shotguns, 248 with rifles, and 93 with “other guns, including derringers, spear guns, and Sport Utility rifles, among others.

3,837 Americans were murdered with some weapon other than a firearm. Of those, the most common murder weapons were 1,567 murdered with knives, 680 with hands and/or feet, and 435 with blunt objects.

Overall, the United States murder rate is below 110th in the world, and the rate has declined by approximately 58% since 1991 – more than 150 million new guns ago.

So the gun murder rate goes down...again...

2013.......8,454

so....more guns....less gun murder.....


And 1,567 murdered with knives and cutting weapons...248 with rifles....

Ya since the 1990's we have been told over and over that allowing open carry or concealed carry would lead to a blood bath and scenes from the wild west. Hasn't happened yet, but every time a new law is made allowing it the same claims are made by the same people. this is 2015.... The numbers in this post are from 2014... Please read more carefully.....and crime is up in te democrat cities.....they have under staffed, under funded and under mined their police...and it is now shoeing up in less pro active police work.....

And almost all 18 are done by the same disgraced economist. There are many studies done by many different people that say carry doesn't affect crime rates.
