Sure.

People who call for a change in attitude from others should first demonstrate the change in themselves. I see absolutely no.evidence that the OP desires any such change in our discourse.

And those who respond by saying things like "the media and political elite won't let us cooperate because they want us to be at odds" are nothing but cheap talking nihilists.

Any coming together will be brought on by people who are willing to put in the work...and self evaluate. A steadfast devotion to the truth must be achieved. And if it is, we cannot be stopped by any bullshit cabal at the top.

good enough if you acknowledge that there is only one "truth". What we have now are several versions of the truth, and the media is responsible for much of it. An honest media would go a long way towards reducing the hate in the USA today.

Why don't we try something new in 2020. Stop screaming at each other and try to understand the other side's issues and concerns. We are one great country, but we have allowed outside forces to divide us and make us not trust, and in some cases, hate anyone who differs with us on anything.

Reagan and O'Neill did it, Clinton and Newt did it. Why can't the rest of us? Why can't our elected reps in congress work together for us?

Maybe its a pipe dream, but it starts with us.

How about it?

We have a party that went from Democrat, to liberals, to progressives, now Socialists, and communism isn't too far down the road for them. Not only have they become the anti-white party, and willing to sell out our entire country, but look at what they did to our President for no reason other than hate and rejection.

So where is this middle ground you speak of? How can you have any middle ground with people like this? Last year they launched an impeachment war that will last for generations. There is no middle ground when it comes to hate.

Perhaps not, but look at who is actually running the party now. It's a bunch of rookie Socialists who not only are to the left of the party, but anti-semites as well. Bernie, the head Socialist, should have been the Democrat nominee last time. So it's less of the party itself than it is the direction the voters want to take the party.

DumBama won reelection. The House flipped to Democrat leadership last election. Poll show an increasing interest in Socialism over capitalism, mostly with younger people. And if Democrats regain power of the entire federal government again, it will be open borders.
