There was a time when REAL Americans were paid enough money to buy a house, a car, and raise a couple of kids and send them to college on the wages they made down at the widget plant, which included health care and a pension plan. The widget plant moved to Indonesia when W was President. By the time they moved, the plant hadn't given any meaningful raises since Reagan was President. It had been bought out by an international comglomerate, which had cut employee wages when it bought the plant, stripped employee benefits over the years, to remain competitive. Health care was long gone. Wages weren't much more than minimum wage, and all of the workers were taking second jobs or applying for foods stamps by the time they left.
