Have you read Chariots of the Gods?

I often think about buying this book but I hate reading. My eyes are bad and hurt after reading even just a little.
Eric Von Danikan is regarded by some as a crackpot but his speeches are intriguing.

Is it worth reading?
A great read! You can watch history channel and get most of what is in chariots of the gods, if you watch the right shows. A great deal of what the history chanel calls acient allien I believe is more likely the work of man from previous civs we are not yuet aware of!
I think it is condescending to assume ancient civilizations were incapable of engineering and scientific reasoning
our own faulty, hubris...

A common thread of Chariots of the Gods is.....

No human could have done this....therefore, it must have been

ALIENS!

As a mechanical engineer it drives me crazy when these bogus ancient alien tv shows make the idiotic claim, that even today, we would have great difficultly building these same ancient edifices to the same precise tolerances.

Rest assured, what the ancient people built could be easily duplicated using today's modern equipment and machinery. ....

block.jpg could we?

Do we have the ability to lift and transport this block hundreds of miles then elevate it into place?

The most puzzling thing about the about space aliens is their propensity to crash after reaching the Earth?

Here they are navigating for millions and millions of miles over countless light years, while avoiding meteors, comets, black holes, and other space obstacles.

Yet when reaching the Earth, they somehow lose control of their space craft and end up crashing? ... :cuckoo:

And they only fly over cornfields in Iowa....not the cities where all the lights are coming from

Why not?
And 3000 years ago they did it how?

:eusa_whistle:

Rollers, levers, inclined planes,lubrication,
pulleys ........lots of slave labor

Are you one of those people that believes the bibles stories that slaves built the pyramids?
That has been proven false btw

If you question moving a large block a hundred miles using manual labor

How do you move a piece of machinery capable of moving that block over a thousand light years?

If you did, why would you not just leave it here?

That certainly looks like technology they had 3000 years ago!
Around 3,000 years ago the Greeks and Romans were building huge structures with just ropes, pulleys, and large wooden cranes. ....

They were and all of the stones in that structure are quite small by comparison with the arch being used to distribute the weight.

depends on how one defines "slaves". Are you one
of those people who quibble over semantics?

we have found large pits where saw blades were used to cut the rock for the pyramids. They had more advanced tools than we think. We know we lost all the roman tech when rome fell and created the dark ages. Don't you think that the loss of tech from a prior civilization is of higher likelyhood than aliens? We just had better tools than the historians think we did at the time of the pyrimids
