Former Bush admin officials have actually convinced me they did think Saddam was developing nuclear weapons.

Do I think they just wanted to go in to Iraq for oil?, or for George to avenge Saddam's threat to kill his daddy? or lie about the intelligence?.........no.

I don' t think going into Iraq was a mistake at the Presidential level. We as a nation were bloodthirsty, and not anywhere near over 911.

The mistake, was not getting out after we captured Saddam. Although the hanging didn't happen till 2006, in 2003 we should have realized we'd done all we should do. But the Bush admin had a reelection coming up in 2004. So we couldn't do the logical thing. Logic being that whether we would have left in 2003, or 2010, what happened after we left will always be the same thing it is now.
